Today I set the fresh air damper to open from 3:30 am to 5:30 am to pre cool the house.
Early am temp here will be around 64 degrees.

A blog post about buying a new appliance. I don't do this often. In general I try to repair things instead of buying new. But in this case the old refrigerator (which was in our home when we moved here 17 years ago) was using an absurd amount of electricity. Our consumption will be about 600 kWh a year lower due to replacing an old fridge and an old freezer with a new A-rated appliance.

Finally took a shower!🚿 Feels nice to be wearing clean clothes that hadn’t been worn for five days straight. Instead of unhygienic, I look at it as saving energy. Didn’t need to heat the bathroom in order to take a shower, and didn’t use any hot water. #SavingEnergy #CombatingClimateChange

This week has been a journey of discovery as I learn to use my new #Remoska. A #lowenergy way of cooking, which should largely replace our electric ovens on a daily basis. I had a smaller one in the camper for some time, but the larger Dua is more flexible for home use and able to tolerate use on the gas hob as well. Not glamorous, but very satisfying. #mynormandykitchen #CutTheWaste #SavingEnergy
