  6. Florida #SARNET #hamradio map shows (unfortunately) they do not have any coverage into the two counties most likely to be hit hard, Dixie and Levy County (likely, because of lack of people there and infrastructure). Proposed station would have covered Cedar Key, but not installed yet. This was used heavily in Hurricane Ian for the first two days for SAR teams in Ft. Myers.

  11. Have been monitoring Florida #SARNET #hamradio (linked repeater) system for the last 4 hours. No emergency traffic. (only the state EOC keeping people off the frequencies every so often). #Idalia

  16. @KD7FAY it’s a shame they don’t see more use. We’ve got strong activity on many Florida repeaters, especially with #SARnet

  17. Another #hurricane (well, tropical storm by the time it reaches me), another day listening to #sarnet. It's such a fascinating statewide wireless infrastructure project ... like being in a chatroom across the whole state.

I'm only lurking since I don't have my #hamradio license yet, and I'm sure at some point they're going to ask folks to open up the airwaves for emergency comms; but it was nice to hear some ragchew earlier 🤣 #amateurradio
