No, it's not a late April Fool's post: S3 Files has just been announced, meaning you can mount an S3 bucket as an NFS filesystem natively on EC2, ECS, Lambda and EKS.
When I saw the Community Builders preview, I started imagining how it could help with application modernization. I wrote the article back then, hoping I could publish it once the feature went GA.
