Poolside party at camp. Had grilled chicken (leg), some baked beans, corn on the cob, & mac salad w/ green peas & ham. Fresh fruit, vodka punch, ice cream sundae - a small one - all about the toppings.
Then trays of shots came ‘round, mini Long Islands, peanut butter flavored whisky, strawberry tequila (?) The competitions were inspirational. Best tan, best jockstrap, etc.

As part of our First Contact celebration we decided to make root beer floats.

We had missed some free floats at PCC yesterday which gave us the idea… and in the process of getting some fancy pop and vegan ice cream (from our favorite shop, Frankie & Jo’s) we realized kiddo had somehow never had a root beer float before!

Naturally we had to use some Star Trek glasses. The floats were delicious! And not at all insidious like the Federation1. 😆

Thanks to #Amazon I’m going to get to try what seems like might be a different type of #RootBeer called Bundaberg. My rudimentary research indicates it’s an Australian brand, and the bottles are quite unique. I remember seeing bottles similar to these when I was in college holding a Dutch beer called Grolsch. It appears you pull a ring to break the seal. At least that’s what it looks like. I’m excited to ry it once it cools down a bit in the fridge.
