Durante la segunda vuelta, un grupo de seis medios —El Comercio, #Perú 21, Trome, Correo, América TV, Canal N— publicó 1045 informes, editoriales, columnas, entrevistas o “investigaciones” contra #RobertoSánchez. Todo eso ocurrió entre el 17 de mayo y el 7 de junio, según un estudio hecho por EL FOCO. El objetivo de la campaña mediática fue apoyar a KeikoFujimori para que gane las elecciones.

So far, the main opposition parties to emerge with representation in the new Congress have indicated they will maintain their distance from the #KeikoFujimori administration. Opposition members of Congress conspicuously left the building as Fujimori began her speech on 28 July. #RobertoSánchez, the opposition candidate in the second round in June, led a demonstration in the street outside.

With 99.6% of votes counted, #KeikoFujimori has established a firm lead over #RobertoSánchez and seems assured to become Peru’s next president. She has done so on the basis of votes from Peruvians living abroad and of ballot papers with irregularities that have had to be adjudicated upon by the special electoral tribunals (JEEs). Fujimori won 63.2% of the total votes cast by Peruvians voting abroad.

Zunächst baute er seinen Vorsprung bis auf 40.000 Stimmen aus, doch am Mittwochabend wandte sich das Blatt wieder. Der Wahlausgang ist weiterhin offen – die Endergebnisse sind erst für Juli angekündigt.

The election count reaches a nail-bitingly close conclusion #Peru #Wahlen2026
As of last night, the official count from the second round of presidential elections gave #KeikoFujimori the narrowest of narrow margins of victory over #RobertoSánchez. She attained 9,043,934 votes (or 50.012% of the total) to Sánchez’s 9,039,415 (49,988%), a difference of 4,519 votes. Each side is now turning to questioning the official results.

Roberto Sánchez's party has pointed out the elimination of digital vote counting for overseas ballots and other irregularities, but Keiko Fujimori's alliance has ruled out a full recount of the votes from the presidential runoff.With 98.27% of the ballots counted by the electoral authorities, right-wing candidate Keiko Fujimori has secured 50.004% of the valid votes. Meanwhile, progressive candidate Roberto Sánchez has 49.996%, a difference of just 1,616 votes in favor of Fujimori’s camp.
