Okay, the trade of #RafaelDevers by the #RedSox to the #SFGiants looks to be a straight salary dump (mixed with getting rid of a player they felt didn’t fit), as the Giants will pick up the remainder of Devers’ enormous contract.

(I expect Devers’ offensive production will start to fall off a cliff in about two years, and he has basically zero defensive value at this point.)

The Sox basically got spare parts in return. The question now is what they’ll do with the money they’re saving.

Extremely happy that the #RedSox extended #RafaelDevers. I was very pessimistic that it'd get done and I was afraid they'd have to trade him like #MookieBetts was. The kid got paid 11 years/$331M but did not get a no trade clause.

This still doesn't let them off the hook for #XanderBogaerts.

Here we go again #RedSoxNation, now #ChaimBloom has reportedly said if they can't extend #RafaelDevers said he won't #trade him. This means that Chaim and The Trio are more than comfortable in giving away #Devers for a comp #draftpick. They need to get their shit together or #RedSox ownership needs to #FireBloom

Here we go again #RedSoxNation, #RafaelDevers said he won't negotiate during the season so now the front office has it's window. Chaim and The Trio need to get their shit together and make him a solid, fair offer based on his age, talent and what he means to the #RedSox franchise.

If this doesn't happen or they can't come to terms they need to #trade him prior to #MLB #OpeningDay in order to get maximum value for the 26 year old before he walks. @baseball #baseball
