I have been feeling under the weather for the last days, but when the rain stopped and the sun broke through the grey clouds I knew that I had to take the chance. This was my first proper autumn ride, 9°C, perfect for climbing the Hesselberg and enjoy the late afternoon sunshine over the countryside.

Lake Wildsee and the almost 140-year-old Alpine hut Wildseeloderhaus, in Fieberbrunn, Austria. A beautiful hike up to 1854 meters and some tasty soup and Kaiserschmarrn waiting for us at the end. One of the kids fell into a tiny creek and had to hike all the way down with wet shoes. 😅

I miss rockhounding with Mom at secluded beaches, where it's only us on the beach, looking for nifty rocks to collect.

Way too busy to do anything outside these last days. Took this photo exactly two years ago. I love maples in autumn, they energize me when the weather turns glum. I‘m just a sucker for warm colours. 🍁

I get up just before 6am daily to give Mom her first medication dose. She rests until getting out of bed at 8am, when I take her first daily vitals, log them, give insulin & rest of the morning meds. Then, I make breakfast.
It's cold in the mornings now. My morning routine now includes lighting the woodstove, early morning, to warm up our home before Mom arises.
Asher & I are enjoying the fireside warmth. I'm reading a book while my eggs are boiling. -
