(Why, you might ask, did I want adjacent hotels?

Many of these people are not morning people, and I have travelled with peers before. Without accommodation constraints, people end up spread all over. Meeting up to start a day becomes a significant negotiation and invariably there's one person who is "not ready yet" who insists that everyone come to _their_ hotel and wait until it is convenient for them.

Many #Japanese #hotels don't have a significant lobby to wait in; It will be somewhat chilly for us weak #queenslanders, and the people who do these sorts of things tend to do them repeatedly, framing mildly selfish behaviour as a sensible default. It's my 40th birthday and I've planned the entire damned affair and I refuse to be cajoled into waiting on someone else's convenience.

People have different desires for accommodation, so I oorganised a serviced appartment, a mid-range "luxury" hotel and a nice budget option, all within 2 minutes walk. The two cheapest are both now booked out. As I foretold.)
