Is there someone out there who is running #Ghost via #Podman quadlets?

I have been trying and trying and trying but I am unable even to start the systemd service. I would very much appreciate some guidance!

Next step is to migrate Ghost from another installation but Saint @EvanHahn from Chicago already offered me his invaluable help. I was hoping I could at least get the system running, but 😭

🔳 Instead of a streaming unit file, use template unit files, so to increase performance through horizontal scaling https://fedoramagazine.org/systemd-template-unit-files/
🔳 Configure easily location of media files, so that also caddy/nginx can serve them directly.

But I had absolutely no problem with that, because all of the containers have been deployed as #Quadlets with #Ansible and persistent data was mapped to host paths, protected by #SELinux. Everything was just redeployed in a glimpse.

#Podman v6 is out! Particularly interesting to me: Modernised #networking (easier rootless #containers), a #REST API for #Quadlets (easier fleet management), enhanced podman machine (#applehv support, hopefully incl. #inotify support).

Make sure you're using #sqlite as a #database backend before upgrading. Upgrade to 5.8 first to migrate from #boltdb. 6.0 has dropped boltdb support, so everything will be gone if you don't migrate first.

I decided to dedicate my weekend to server maintenance and documentation.

Yesterday, I managed to install Immich using Quadlets, following the instructions on this very insightful repository, then I tried to migrate a Nextcloud installation from YunoHost to my new homelab. I started a #tmux session so that @sirodoht could kindly join to help me. We tinkered for two hours, but there was too much to do 🤯

Today, I spent the whole day writing documentation for these and many other things I learned/did in the past couple of months, since I am terrible at taking notes of the technical experiments I do.

I am exhausted, but also quite discouraged. The more I write, the more I feel there is to write. I really think I don’t have the time and the energy, but when it’s done it’s very fulfilling, and it’s very useful to have a lot of references in the future.

I will edit this post once what I wrote gets published on tommi.space.

Out of boredom, I thought why not give the Zammad Quadlets another try.
Originally, I planned to work on them next month but I just couldn’t resist.

And would you look at that, adding two more variables to the nginx container fixed the problem.

Now the Quadlets are working like a charm, meaning I need a new project for next month.

The wiki will probably be finished by the end of this week.

March is halfway done and I’m already starting to work on next months project.

I’m working on Podman Quadlet files for it.

I’ve already got quite far, only one DNS Issue left to be resolved.

It’s already up on Codeberg in its own Repo so you might want to take a look at it yourself.

I’m now gonna continue working on the Ansible Playbook for Arcg Linux post-installation.

This bug is frustrating me.

At least I managed to confirm that it is indeed the case that my #podman #quadlets are not starting on boot even with #systemd enable-linger and WantedBy=default.target.

The moment I ssh into the machine the services start.

In recent times my Raspberry Pi server with #MicroOS has been behaving weirdly.

My server sometimes goes down and it seems it's because of an automated system restart according to the logs (when I have transactional-update disabled, so that shouldn't be happening).

When that happens, it takes a bit for me to ssh to it. It seems like my #podman #quadlets are not obeying #systemd enable-linger and starting on boot with WantedBy=default.target , because they only start after I ssh to it.
