I was never satisfied with the variable loading of states in #saltstack . Maybe if you work everyday you will get it, but I don't write a lot of states and only a few times I need a states which had to be written for linux and freebsd, but than I did know what will overwrite what. I completed the setup and Chapter 4 of the Build An Audio AI App Course from Talk Python. There are incredible topics to grasp: FastAPI, Pedantic, MongoDB, HTMX, and AssemblyAI. Docker Setup, MongoDB, and PyCharrm. Michael is a great instructor, and I am enjoying the course and its potential to extend podcast and audio recording into text and summarize and customize the content, which will benefit AI in query and search.

@__sharky__ Yes, I know and that is one of the big advantages od #SaltStack, I even wrote my own https://michal.hrusecky.net/2022/07/atpass/ but neverthe less, I stick to the defaults just to be compatible and to know how to potentionally cooperate with other people. That doesn't mean that I like #yaml or #jinja, I just love #SaltStack despite of all those technologies (maybe count #Pyhton into those hated technologies as well).

Less blogging, more coding. I am going to be spending the next two months focusing on my web dev course as well as a Python course for the next two months.

Es gibt kleine Scripting- und Software-Projekte in #pyhton, #powershell, #bash, #php, #sql, #javascript, usw. Darüber hinaus brauchen wir häufig API-Connectoren zu Netzwerk- und Security-Produkten, die meist mit #xml (z.B. für SIEM-Themen) und #json (z.B. für Automatisierungen) als Austauschformat nutzen. Fokus-Hersteller sind #ExtremeNetworks und #Fortinet. Interne Tools gibt es u.a. mit #Excel #Macros (#vba / #dotNET). Also wirklich vielfältige größere und kleine Projekte...

Meine Kollegin/Mein Kollege sollte also strukturiert und mit Planung an Projekte herangehen können, anstatt, wie aktuell die Projekte laufen "jede/r, der/die ein bisschen Scripten kann, schreibt irgendwie irgendwas, was niemand anderes mehr brauchbar nutzen kann".

Oh wow #pyhton threading lib is sooo nice. I used the #multiprocessing lib a while back and found it cumbersome. Parallelism in my existing Artifactory calls will be a snap with this one. I update metadata on docker manifests with quality gate data, deployment operator and deployment approver. When I did this we had less than related 20 images. We now have 60+ and it’s time to boost the efficiency a bit. This will be easy. I haven’t had to do much unit testing around threading so this should be fun

@WithDownes In terms of ecosystem, #python has a 20 year head start, but for my use cases both #julialang and #pyhton have nice ecosystems, both in terms of community and libraries.

However, what I really appreciate about Julia, is that the libraries are written in Julia. So I can always have a look and extend or modify them, without suddenly hitten a backend in another language like c/c++
