  1. The rules of #Puluc, and the instructions for running the game, are in a PDF manual that I sincerely recommend you check out. And you can print the manual out too! Get the Puluc for the #PsionSeries3 from cyningstan.itch.io/puluc

  2. Slain enemies in #Puluc for the #Psion are stacked up in the corner of the screen, beside your player image. When you capture the last free enemy piece, the game is over and you have won! A running score is kept, so you can see how you perform against various enemies. Get Puluc for the #PsionSeries3 from cyningstan.itch.io/puluc

  3. As you move your warriors along the track in #Puluc, you can land on enemies, capturing them. You then drag them home for ritual slaughter. Whether their home or yours depends on the rule variations. While you are transporting captives, your enemy can recapture you, and if THEY get home, their captured friends are freed. The game is available for the #PsionSeries3 from cyningstan.itch.io #Psion

  4. At the start of a game of #Puluc, you have five warriors lined up ready to set out from your city, and the enemy has likewise. Four casting sticks act as dice, determining how far you can move a warrior. Despite the luck element, this isn't a race: the objective is to capture or slay all your opponent's warriors. You can get the game for the #PsionSeries3 from cyningstan.itch.io #Psion

  5. #Puluc has been played a number of different ways. The version for the #Psion supports these variations by letting you tweak the rules at the start of the game. You can also select between three levels of difficulty for the computer player, or to play against a human. Get the game for the #PsionSeries3 from cyningstan.itch.io/puluc

  6. I sometimes see retro computing posts on here. I have no interest in old Commodore 64s or game consoles, but a while ago I bought a second hand Palm m105 and reminded myself how much I loved mine.

When they were current, I badly wanted a Psion series 3 or 5. I recently managed to get a series 3 and 3a for reasonable prices. They're impressive machines.

I would like to find a real-world use case for at least some of these PDAs. I'm not sure yet what that might be.

  7. Today, I released #Puluc for the #PsionSeries3! Puluc is an old board game from Mexico, possibly dating back to the Mayans. Two players send their warriors down a track towards their enemy's city, trying to capture and slay their enemies in a game of ritual warfare. You can play against the #Psion or a friend. Puluc for the Psion Series 3 is available from cyningstan.itch.io/puluc

  8. You can emulate #Dragonfell on modern systems via DOSBox and a free #PsionSeries3 emulator for #msdos. There's an emulation package that provides step-by-step instructions for obtaining and installing the two emulators, as well as a version of the game packaged specifically for those emulators. Future plans might possibly include an #msdos #cga version of the game, but in the mean time, this is a good solution. Get it from cyningstan.itch.io/dragonfell- #Psion

  9. When two opposing armies meet in the same region in #Dragonfell, battle commences! The players adjourn to the battle map, where the individual units fight it out in the region's terrain; whoever is victorious holds on to the region. Battles can take many turns, and there can be a number of battles fought during each turn on the strategic map. The game can be downloaded from cyningstan.itch.io/dragonfell- #Psion #PsionSeries3

  10. Each region on the #Dragonfell production map provides resources for the upkeep of existing forces, and can also be used to generate more units, each region generating a specific type of unit. Resources aren't stored, so you need to keep control of as many regions as you can if you want to maintain large armies. You can cancel production in certain regions to avoid producing units you can't afford. Get the game at cyningstan.itch.io/dragonfell- #Psion #PsionSeries3

  11. #Dragonfell is for one or two players. Two-player uses hotseat mode, which is more convenient on a real #PsionSeries3 than on a desktop computer, as you can pass the #Psion back and forth. Nobody has to look away or leave the room! There are three levels of computer play: easy, fair, and hard, for when a human opponent is unavailable. But opponents should be easy to find: who wouldn't want to play with one of these cute little machines? Get it from cyningstan.itch.io/dragonfell-

  12. As a little Christmas gift for #Psion fans, #Dragonfell is released for the #PsionSeries3! This is a #HOMM inspired strategy war game, featuring ogres, dark elves, dragons and wizards. Send your forces out across the land, conquer regions which can provide resources and produce more forces, and finish off your enemy by conquering their citadel. Get it from cyningstan.itch.io/dragonfell-

  13. Beta testing is going well on the Dragonfell project. I've changed up the title screen, with an image that can also be used for the manual cover, Itch banner and anywhere else that warrants full colour and high resolution. #gamedev #Psion #PsionSeries3

  14. Taking a break from MS-DOS, I've been working on a game for the #PsionSeries3 pocket computer, of which I own too many. Dragonfell is a #HOMM inspired game where two sides raise armies of creatures and send them against one another across a decaying land, trying to seize the other's citadel. That game goes into beta test today, hopefully for a release by Christmas. There may be an #msdos version in future, as it's different enough from HOMM to be worth porting.
