Regels, procedures, protocollen.
Ze vormen de grootste kopzorgen binnen bedrijven en organisaties. Waarom? Omdat niemand ze leest.Oplossing? Maak ze visueel! Veel leuker en begrijpelijker.

SUPER excited to announce that not only do I get to do a panel at #Fedicon2026 during #FOSSY2026 , but I now get to do my presentation on "The Fediverse Isn't..." !
I'm seriously SO excited. I hope people push back on my presentation, make points, ask questions. I want everyone walking away looking at the #Fediverse different and that includes me!
For those interested it'll be 2PM on Friday in the Fedicon room.
I hope to see you folks there and talk about the future of the open social web!
TITLE: The Fediverse Isn't...
ABSTRACT: There is a word we use loosely, sometimes carelessly. We point to servers, apps, instances, logos—and say this is it. But what if all of that is merely the furniture, not the house? What if we're measuring by the wrong units entirely?
What if the real thing—the actual Fediverse—cannot be found in any repository, cannot be forked from GitHub, cannot be described in a protocol specification?
It's not Mastodon. Not Pixelfed. Not Lemmy. Not your instance's uptime statistics or the purity of your ActivityPub implementation. These are vessels. Vessels can break, can fork, can fade into obscurity. Yet something persists through them all.
And here's the uncomfortable part: the walled gardens haven't left yet. They never did. The infrastructure exists for them to step across, to shed their walls, to breathe freely alongside everyone else. Whether they choose to is not a question of compatibility. It's a question of courage.
We have been building monuments when we should have been tending fires. Protocols don't gather. Servers don't trust each other. Tools don't make friends. People do. Communities do.
This talk will walk through what we've mistaken the Fediverse for—and more importantly, what remains hidden beneath our assumptions. We'll discuss why platform-building is a dead end, why community-building is the only path forward, and why choosing between ActivityPub and ATProto might be the very wrong battle to fight.
You came expecting answers. You'll leave with better questions. That's the point. #fedi #protocol #activitypub #ATProto #openSocial #twitter #bsky #facebook #openWeb #web #community #conference

I didn't know Kermit was so advanced and versatile as I used it little back in the day. The venerable file transfer protocol, which turns 45, is also a great story of old school, non corporate open source.

#MissKittyPolitics because it is a surveillance state.
That #5guc has got to be a #Surveillance #Protocol. The diminishment of performance can only mean that. #T-Mobile is not good. None of them are. -
Communication styles of BRICS countries within the SADC context is essential for making informed decisions, fostering effective collaborations, and successfully navigating the complex landscape of this regional bloc. It requires ongoing research, cultural awareness, and adaptability to thrive in the diverse and dynamic environments of these nations. @[email protected] ·Digital Civilization / Internet Brain
🌐 SERIES TITLE:
The Internet Becomes a Brain: 8 Themes of the Fediverse Revolution
1. The Internet as a Living Brain
The modern internet behaves like a brain. Every post, share, and comment acts like a signal moving through neurons.
Instead of one central system, information flows through many connected nodes across the Fediverse.
This is the foundation of decentralized social media thinking.
2. Decentralization: No Single Control Point
Decentralization removes the idea of one company controlling everything.
Instead of one server, there are thousands of independent servers that still connect.
This creates resilience, diversity, and user control.
3. Mastodon and Community Servers
Mastodon is built on “instances”—independent communities with their own rules.
Each server is like a mini-social network inside a larger universe.
Users can still connect across servers.
4. ActivityPub: The Language of the Network
ActivityPub is the system that lets all platforms talk to each other.
It defines how posts move between servers and apps.
Without it, the Fediverse would be broken into isolated platforms.
5. The Fediverse Ecosystem
The Fediverse includes many apps working together:
- Mastodon (microblogging)
- Pixelfed (images)
- PeerTube (video)
- Lemmy (forums)
- WriteFreely (blogs)
Each platform is part of one connected ecosystem.
6. Digital Identity Without Big Tech
Your identity is not owned by a company.
Instead of one login tied to one platform, you get:
@name@server
This allows identity portability across the internet.
7. Community Governance and Moderation
Each server decides its own rules.
There is no global authority.
This creates many different cultures online, each managing its own digital space.
8. The Future Internet: A Multi-Brain Network
The future internet is not one platform—it is many connected systems.
Instead of one algorithm controlling attention, many communities shape their own information flows.
This is the shift from platform internet → protocol internet.
🧠 Final Concept Summary
This 8-blog series is built around one core idea:
