7 days with only a trackball: I love it. For everyday computing, it's been way better than I expected. I'll probably keep a conventional mouse around for gaming, but that's pretty rare nowadays.

I found a new in box ProtoArc EM01 NL for $20. I am going to try using a trackball.
Send help. Or a wrist brace.
Probably both...

I recently swapped my Logitech Eego K860 and MZ Ergo trackball out for a ProtoArc EK04 Mini and EM04 Trackball. I *really* like it better than the Logitech.
I’d say the only thing that I don’t like as well is the placement of the connection selector on the trackball. It’s on the bottom like the Logitech M575 I also own. I swap between a few machines quite often and lifting it up to swap isn’t fun. I’d rather swap the locations of that and the DPI selector, as that’s a button I never really use.

Vintage trackballs tend to age a lot better than vintage mice, but I'm not sure they can still hold up on a modern PC.
I got my hands on a Trackball Explorer 1.0 and found the acceleration a bit disappointing when you've got 5120x1440 to scroll across. I know it's super-coveted by enthusiasts, but I'm not sure it holds its own that much.
The #protoarc EM03 has a very similar shape, but tracks at modern speeds. Should also try the Sanwa Gravi.

@Luccus yeah, it's my daily driver for work stuff
it needs more sensitivity though
thinking of that: all my trackballs are somewhat flawed!
- The red #Logitech TrackMan Wheel is slow.
- The #perixx-one was nice while it lasted, but it's scrollwheel is broken in two ways now
- the #ProtoArc is great, but doesn't work over usb-wire at all:-/
