Edit: Just to be clear, I still encourage everyone to move to better platforms and delete your Discord accounts (even if there was no age verification at all). Discord isn't a privacy-respectful platform.
But this small victory means we should keep pushing for better privacy practices, everywhere.
This means they are listening. This means you have the power to make things better, for yourself and for others.
Celebrate that. And keep pushing back.

We now have a private #matrix server which we #selfhost. Everyone has their own slugmilk.org username and everything!
Matrix is far from perfect, but this is exactly what we need, and it is under our ownership and control.
Now to get them all on the #Fediverse!

Earlier this year, I submitted a comment to the Colorado #privacy rulemaking, based on my experience with meaningless responses to #CCPA #RtK
"The revised regulations also require companies to 'avoid incomprehensible internal codes' and to 'include explanations' for the data that is provided in an access request. Both changes could dramatically increase the burden on businesses when responding to access requests." #privacyWin
