Pluto DIRECT
Cloudy and cool
No garden post today again. Sorry. Could not get it together.
Pluto is direct, so at least we have a smidge of relief until Mercury goes the big R on the 24th, to make all our lives hell.
Yesterday was busy. If I hadn’t been so tired, it wouldn’t have mattered, but I was still trying to settle from the past couple of months.
Up on time to feed the cats. Out the door shortly after breakfast to drop books in the book drop. There was nothing to pick up, since I suspended holds until today. I’ve staggered when the holds come back into play, so hopefully, there won’t be a waterfall of books arriving.
Grocery shopping, for the residency, for the baking for the reading, for my mom while I’m gone. Post office, to mail bills and cards. A couple of other stores on the way to the bank to get out the cash for when we eat out. Thrift store, looking for a smock in which I can paint. Didn’t find one, but found some other cool stuff, including a chest of Bordeaux patterned silverplate for less than $5. You know me and silverware. To another store, where I grabbed some calendars I needed for 2027 and a pair of house slippers to replace the ones I just bought before I visited my friend that already fell apart. To one of my least favorite stores looking for sample size house paint for the installation, but they didn’t have it. To Spectrum, to pay my bill in person and fend off the false claims of a “better deal” if I only switch my cell service to them. Nope. I keep my cell service separate from my internet provider.
Wiped out when I got home. Hauled everything up the stairs. Put things away. Sorted things for the residency. Worked on the new program. Worked on the sales sheets – I will have to check some info when we all arrive. My computer decided it needed to update in the middle of all of it – of course it did.
Sorted out some more folders of work to take to the residency. Did the mailing list sheets. Switched out my clothes for the coming week, figuring out outfits.
Left early for the CSA pickup so I could go to Carr’s first. I got two sample sizes of red paint – I will probably go with the Colonial Red for symbolism. Picked up some masonry nails for a different project. Went to Savvy Hive, and the CSA boxes were in lovely bags, with thank you cards attached. Grabbed that. Headed to a store I’d been to once that day, because I’d replaced the disappointing house slippers, and my mom wanted a pair, too. While I was there, I grabbed some acrylic paints and an inexpensive scrub top I will use as a smock when I paint.
Came home, hauled everything up the stairs. Made the fudge peppermint brownie bites for the reading. Chopped the zucchini, Delecata squash, and sweet potatoes, tossed them with olive oil, cumin, and cinnamon to roast while I cooked salmon on top of the stove.
Flash-froze some CSA things so they will be good to go when I return.
Packed the painting box, and figured out a few other things. My friend sent me a charging station, which I look forward to using. Made sure everything is set up for my mom for the next few days.
Went to bed ridiculously early and was wide awake at 2 AM. Managed to get back to sleep a little after 3, until a quarter to 6, when Tessa insisted I get up.
Morning routine was good. I have a bunch of stuff ready to load on the stairs already. I just made the gluten-free white chocolate apricot bars, but they don’t bake, and they are setting in the freezer.
Once those are ready, I will pack the food bags for the reading and for the residency apartment (different bags for ease of transport), load the car, and off I go. We can get into the studios at 11 this morning. I will move the car in front of the house and load from there.
Wish me luck!
