  1. There is also a new #PracticalSolid episode about the #PodOS search feature. Check it out and (⚠ bad pun incoming) let me know how you find it! 😉

  2. Did you know it takes only one docker command to run your own #Solid Pod?

Whether you want to start a local development server or run a pod under your own domain, you'll learn the basics in this video.

  3. A neat syntax to write down data on a #Solid Pod is called #turtle. It is nearly as simple as writing a short english sentence. So let's add a first turtle file to your pod, to make statements about things.

  4. I want to empower you to fully leverage the data stored on your #Solid Pod, extending its potential beyond the limits of individual apps.

To achieve this, we need to cover the basics of Solid's data model: RDF, also known as Linked Data.

This is what my latest @practical_solid video is about.

It's easier than you might think, and practical applications quickly follow in future episodes.

  5. With #Solid you do not only gain control over your own data: Using links you can incorporate data that was shared with you into the apps you are using.

In the latest #PracticalSolid video I am showing, how to link an address book stored in another Pod, so that you can view it in your contacts app, right next to the contacts you created yourself.

  6. There are lots of nice recipes on the web. Bigger recipe sites often allow you to store your favorites in a cookbook. Unfortunately those are always restricted to recipes on that site.

Here comes #Solid to the rescue: With an app like #Umai you can store any recipe found on the web to a cookbook in your own Pod.

In the latest #PracticalSolid video, I am showing you how to do that!

  7. I am going to show you a super power of Solid: Reusing data in different apps. We do not have to stick with SolidOS, but can use other apps in parallel on the same data.

  8. #SolidOS is installed on many Pods by default and most people I talked to do not like it's UI (for good reasons). Yet it is very powerful, if you know where to click. So here is a crash course through some basic functionality. tube.tchncs.de/w/jy1rLo6uXc8yx More will follow in later episodes, as well as some far more appealing and modern #Solid applications. Stay tuned :) #PracticalSolid
