Is there an intuitive and easily accessible way to know what #poweramp UI is attempting to convey with this or any of its other alien hieroglyphs?

@negativepid As for today, I am still carrying my music in MP3 format and I love it. I have a dedicated SD card on my phone and use an MP3 player app: #poweramp . I can carry thousands of songs and sort them by album or by artist (and brag in front of everyone who is willing to talk about music) and don't get the annoying interruptions. But still miss those late 90s where I found Napster. Those were the days!

Anybody know a decent, modern replacement for Tag&Rename?

It used to be our favourite tag editor, but development seemingly stopped back in 2018.

We're ideally looking for something that's:

• Cross-platform (at least Windows and Linux).
• Has a user-friendly UI.

It must:

• Have a dark mode option.
• Be compatible with modern tags, particularly lyrics ones, which we're apparently way out of date on 😅
  • We think the newer Vorbis tag is UNSYNCEDLYRICS, based on some downloaded FLAC files, versus the older LYRICS tag we're used to.

For context, we primarily use WACUP on desktop or Poweramp on Android.

Not sure if it's a thing, but if there's some kind of new option for synced lyrics that's compatible with both of the above, that would be amazing!

Ich höre leider viel zu selten am Smartphone Musik, um die pfiffige UI von #Poweramp richtig zu schätzen. Einfach an jeder Ecke vollgestopft mit Features, nach denen wir uns damals auf iPods die Hände geleckt hätten, und dann sogar noch eine richtig gute UX; die 3D-Visualisierungen – einfach woah! =)

Set up #Navidrome and #Symfonium yesterday. Absolutely loving it so far!

I was using #Poweramp previously (also very good), but now I can stream rather than having to move all the FLAC albums I want to listen to my phone.

@Newmy On my MBP, I use iTunes. On my Android devices, I use #PowerAmp by Max MP (one of the oldest and most sophisticated music players). I strongly recommend it [I don't play music on Windows so, sorry]

My "I don't like streaming music services" setup is working well:

- Folder of music organized by #Beets on my NAS
- Playlists as m3u files in that folder with relative paths
- #Navidrome running on NAS for cloud music playback
- #FolderSync on Android to two-way sync that to my phone
- #Poweramp on Android automatically picks up changes and writes them back
- Mac/Linux command line playback through #mpv, including hotkeys

All works just like a cloud service, but it all works locally.

Is there any smart way to manage #Android apps purchased outside the #Playstore? What I mean is to (semi-)automate updates, to avoid manually checking out website xy, manually downloading the #apk and manually installing it. It doesn't need to be as smooth as with a proper app store.

#Threema took the smart way using #fDroid for distribution. Now I got #Poweramp too, which is a direct download; more apps are likely to follow.
