Jan 3 @ 11:07 Was up early this morning & when I opened the curtains over the picture window I got a GREAT thrill! There was a red-tailed hawk poking around on the ground RIGHT OUTSIDE the window! Great close-up view of it, though it only lasted a few seconds. He looked at me, then flew away. His amazing wing-span looked so much bigger up close! I wouldn't have had time to take a picture even if I'd had my phone or camera with me, but we have plenty of them & see them fly through (SO FAST!) fairly often as they hunt. They are welcome to our plethora of mice & other rodents, & tend to leave our squirrels & pigeons alone, even though these hawks look big enough to prey on them. Anyway, that was such a great way to start the day! I also did some moderating, & got a post up with my PoiBoiz. They love living in Myrtle so much, I can tell by how active they are, in the motorhomes we've lived in (since 2015) they didn't fly around for fun like they do here, & spent a lot less time playing than they do now. I've had them for 20+ years (Elliot since 1998, and got Max a couple of years later) & love to see them so active & playful again! No plans, we'll see what develops today. Enjoy yours❣️
