The Genome Of Melody project by Jan Hajic and Klára Mühlová applies #bioinformatics methods to the evolution of plainchant and sacred song (and are looking for a consultant - check below).
In #medieval Europe, #plainchant was everywhere - and it was supposed to be the same everywhere. That obviously didn't work, but what was really going on - what were the patterns and mechanisms of change?
