Today is QOL day for #pixeldrain.
Fixes include: swipe navigation in photo albums, a fullscreen button on the file viewer and pausing and unpausing video and audio with spacebar.

#Pixeldrain subscription updates:

The transfer limit for all Patreon plans has been doubled.

The base fee for prepaid has been reduced from €2 to €1 per month.

File expiry for free users has been increased from 90 days to 120 days.

Due to a current excess of storage space I'm increasing the free file expiry time to 90 days.

The expiry time still gets reset each time a file is viewed or downloaded. If you view a file at least once every 90 days it will stay active forever.

People are reporting slow #pixeldrain downloads lately, but I have been unable to reproduce it. As far as I can tell the site is running faster than ever.

Have you had any problems? Can you maybe provide debug data like mtr logs?

Pixeldrain has a built in speedtest nowadays at this link: https://pixeldrain.com/api/misc/speedtest

Visiting that link will download an infinitely large file. That might help debugging the problem. You need to cancel it yourself or it will continue downloading forever.

Instead of tooting about overloaded servers or outages, I just wanted to say that #pixeldrain is doing really well today.

Two new content delivery servers were deployed this week and we're once again smashing the bandwidth records.

Dropping the daily download limit from 10 GB to 5 GB brought in lots of new subscribers and supporters.
Because of this I was able to afford a third 100 Gbps server. This will bring #pixeldrain's bandwidth capacity to 300 Gbps.
That's 37.5 GB per second, or 2.25 TB per minute

Servers are overloaded. Downloads will be slow for a while. I will be ordering more capacity tomorrow. #pixeldrain

I can't expand #pixeldrain fast enough to keep up with the site's growth. I need some more time and budget to work with.

For now I will be reducing the download limit to 5 GB per day, until I can afford more bandwidth capacity.

I understand that Patreon is not an ideal payment method. The system has many flaws. I'm working with a new payment provider to streamline the process. It will take some weeks before that's finished.

#Pixeldrain bandwidth usage is getting out of hand. The site now regularly peaks at one terabyte per minute. On average the site serves one petabyte per day.

Statistics time!

Since the start of #pixeldrain, the site has served 1 206 948 324 downloads, using a total of 203 PB bandwidth. Currently the website has a bandwidth capacity of 240 Gbps, soon to be upgraded to 300 Gbps. Storage capacity is currently sitting at 2176 TB.

Just ordered some more storage servers for #pixeldrain. The site now has a storage capacity of 2112 TB

#Pixeldrain just reached 1 PB in stored files. That's before redundancy. With redundancy it's 1.5 PB.

I'm counting 4362375 files with an average size of 230.9 MB

How is #pixeldrain performing today? The new 100 gigabit server is running really well as far as I can tell.

I'm experimenting with the new server. You might see the free download limit fluctuate a bit. On this server it's currently set to 100 GB to give it a proper load test. If you would like to try it out go to https://focus.pixeldrain.com. It might be a little unstable

#Pixeldrain now has 16 storage servers with a total capacity of 988 TB

Added 200 TB storage capacity to #pixeldrain today.

The growth in Patreon subscribers this month has already made up for the loss of ad revenue. I'm pretty sure #pixeldrain can survive without ads if this trend keeps up.
