Part of the #PID4NFDI team was at the User Conference 4 #Base4NFDI on 20/21.11.2024 in Berlin.
It was a great oppurtunity to meet people and exchange ideas and perspectives.
PID4NFDI presentation explained how a strategic framework based on Persistent Identifier (#PIDs) can change research data management in #FAIR and thus pave the way for improving the reliability and accessibility of scientific research.

At the #eosc symposium, the challenges that arise when community-based developments do not lead to a decision were discussed using the example of #PIDs.
Who decides which PID systems will prevail? Various aspects were addressed: financial security, sustainability, governance, who has the authority, bottom-up developments versus top-down decisions…
These are interesting questions that we also noticed in the projects @PIDNetworkDE and #PID4NFDI. -
