    Step 3:
Create the Live USB with Persistence

    Using #mkusb on #Linux

    • Install mkusb:
Open a terminal and run the command:
      sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mkusb/ppa
              sudo apt update
              sudo apt install mkusb
    • Launch mkusb:
Type mkusb in the terminal and press Enter.
    • Select the ISO File:
Choose the downloaded ISO file from your file manager.
    • Select the Target Device:
Choose your USB drive from the list. Ensure you select the correct device to avoid data loss on other drives.
    • Select ‘Persistent live’:
In the options, select ‘Persistent live’ to ensure changes will be saved between sessions.
    • Customize Persistence Size:
You can specify how much space you want to allocate for persistence. Ideally, setting aside at least 2GB is reasonable for basic use.
    • Start the Process:
mkusb will then create the bootable USB with persistence. This process could take several minutes.
    • Complete:
Once the process is complete, safely eject the USB drive.

    /dev/sda

    si no:
    /dev/sda/

    dd if=/dev/USB1/ of=/dev/USB2/

    Si y no.

  13. /bin/sh: history: not found

Why no history with the live system after using FreeBSD Installer?

Is this a bug, or to be expected within the constraints of a FreeBSD live system?

    Edit: the footnote from <lists.freebsd.org/archives/fre>,

"[1] I’ve noticed on fresh installs, the default shell no longer has working persistent history, which is a *big* POLA violation, if people want to complain about something."

  14. Great-tailed grackles in a #population toward the northern edge of their #range (Sacramento/Woodland, California) were less #related to each other, which means that they #dispersed farther from where they hatched 🐣 than grackles in a population nearer the center of their range (Tempe, Arizona).

In particular, females in Arizona stay closer to home 🏡 than males, while females in California disperse farther away from home ✈️ like the males do. To keep pushing the edge of the geographic range further, both males and females must be present so they can breed in the new areas.

Now we know that there are 2 things that are different about the grackles on the edge: they are more #persistent and they disperse farther from where they hatched (especially the females)

  16. 🔥 Hot off the press from #TheGrackleProject!
🌇 When the city comes to you, be #flexible
When you go to the city, be #persistent

Great-tailed grackles who were #trained to be more flexible used a wider variety of foods 🍿 and #foraging techniques, but had similar #habitat use patterns and #social behavior as non-trained grackles.

Given that this species is rapidly expanding its geographic #range 🗺️ and shifting more toward #urban 🏙️ and #arid 🏜️ environments in recent years, our finding could suggest that foraging breadth (the number of different food types an individual eats) is a factor in #adapting to #Human-modifiedEnvironments

  17. #MicroPlastics are something that I worry about. As #persistent and #evasive as they are, I wonder about the effects that they have on everything.

I’m a guy who ,aside from #BadMemory, was in pretty good physical shape up until just a few years ago. The worst effects of #TBI did not present themselves for more than two decades since the injury.

With that in mind, I often ask myself if my condition could have been exaggerated by outside influences- such as micro plastics

Ever since the UK Biobank study that showed #brain #atrophy, loss of grey matter, and #cognitive #decline in about 400 people who had #Covid compared with matched controls, via baseline (pre-Covid) and subsequent (~3 years later) MRI scans, there has been significant worry about the impact this virus has on the brain.

Importantly, these were studies of people with Covid, not specifically individuals who were suffering from Long Covid
