There's SO much more to the GBA port of Super Mario Bros. 3 than just e-Reader Levels. The e-Reader can do a LOT more.
The Switch Cards allow you to modify physics and behavior in the Main Game & World-e, and Power-Up Cards let you get otherwise unobtainable items, such as the Cape Feather and Boomerang.

I'm glad that Kitsune Tails is approaching release. Had a good time playing the Steam's #NextFest demo this evening.
The game's immensely cute with its foxgirls and sometimes surprisingly detailed cutscenes, but the physics did take a while to get used to.
(I wonder how my #SMB3 muscle memory is if I were to replay that game now.)

@CyDeFect @FiLiS In theory, yes. In practice, not so much. The #gvfs-based approach creates "weird" mountpoints in a user scope. The #smbnetfs variant creates some "dynamic" mountpoint where you have to access a hostname/ip-address using it as it was a subdirectory. Both not what I would have needed for home directories via #SMB3. Plus, they both perform badly.
So, in my case, just using #NFS for #FreeBSD clients (and still offering #SMB3 via #samba for #Windows clients) was the sanest solution.

@CyDeFect @FiLiS all of these are missing too many details to tell anything about them. Except for #CIFS (although you probably don't even want that but #SMB3 instead, #Linux just kept tthe "CIFS" name although supporting SMB3), all #FreeBSD offers is indeed #SMB1. Whether this is an issue or not depends on your scenario and environment. I just offer my shares via #NFS as well, problem solved for me.
BTW, #seamonkey was removed mainly because of a #python2 (EOL for a long time) build dependency. IIRC this is meanwhile solved, so the port *could* be readded, it's just someone would have to do it and maintain it. There's an inofficial port available, you'll find it on the forums.

As a project to learn #godot I’d like to try making a classic memory game (like the one in #smb3 where you flip over cards to find matches) but I’m not sure if I should implement the cards as UI objects (like buttons or menus) or if I should make them from sprites and areas etc. Any advice from godot #gamedev community would be appreciated

A while back I bit off more than I could chew with a #crochet project. I was going to make a granny square blanket, using the squares as pixels, and I set out to do an #SMB3 mushroom. But at about 50 squares in, I decided 16x16 is just way more squares than I can bring myself to make xP
So, I'm doing an 8x8 blanket instead! I designed myself a little mushroom sprite using the squares I have, and soon I'll be able to start sewing them together. I'm so excited! -

The Wii U VC / NSO release added the extra levels, but only those. If you want more, I've put together a save file for you to use with a copy of the US Wii U Virtual Console version!
You can use this save file to experience a playthrough of the main game with tons of extra stuff, including veggies from SMB2, the Cape Feather from Mario World, a unique blue Boomerang item, an extra special "Hard Mode" with tougher enemies, and more!
All the info you need is right in the video description here, so check it out if you're interested! The video itself shows the new items in action and the Hard Mode activated by the "Red Switch" card.
