I've created a #browser #extension that allows one to (1) select which browser extensions to disable and (2) which sites to disable the extensions on.

Purpose is two-fold:

(use at your own risk please)

1. #Security: You can visit banking sites, etc. without needing to manually disable browser extensions.

2. #Usability: On some sites certain functionality isn't helpful, for example, I don't want highlighting extensions to operate on #Perlego pages, Perlego has built-in highlighting.

okay, I may be slightly addicted to #Perlego. If you like (or do) more scholarly/academic #reading, you should check them out too. Publishers include the likes of @princetonupress, @Harvard University Press, @[email protected] get the idea.

So, umm, #scribd isn't really unlimited #books...or even anywhere in the ballpark. Read on for the really shady story.

I recently finished a trial with #Perlego which I loved - but it was a few bucks more a month than #Scribd and doing some searches I saw Scribd had many of the same books, so I figured I'd give Scribd another try (it'd been a few years and they were offering me another 30 day free trial).

Everything seemed good at first, I was merrily adding books to my saved list and

has anyone used #Perlego? It's an alternative to #Scribd and #AmazonKindleUnlimited for #ebooks.

They only offer a 7 day trial but I was impressed by the quality and quantity of #books It's a tad on the expensive side comparatively ($18/mo.) but it includes a huge number of academic/professional books.

I'm on a 30 day trial of Scribd now (I've used it in the past, but it's been a few years) and am not nearly as impressed.
