    @SmartmanApps Does 3-1¾ = 1¼ or = 2¾? Most people might say the former, but implied addition should really be treated with the same precedence as regular operators, and evaluated left-to-right. So the correct answer is actually 2¾! It's OK if you got this wrong, because the way it is written is ambiguous. Really the expression should be written 3-(1+¾).

    Yes, it's click-bait. Without context, or better still brackets or a solidus, the statement is ambiguous and either/both answers are equally valid/invalid.
