  6. One for the #RetroComputing folks who know their way around #PCMCIA and #PCCard: See the different keying mechanisms here? The top one fits my vintage #IBM laptop, the lower one doesn't.

    The original standard was defined for both 5 volt and 3.3 volt cards. The 3.3 V cards have a key on the side to protect them from being damaged by being put into a 5 V-only slot.

    I've verified that the lower card is a 3.3v card.

    Could it be that my laptop only has a 5v slot?

  11. Can't get the network working on my #riscos #pccard. The virtual NIC is present, pcconfig shows the NetLinks menu and i have added the parameters to choose eh1. But all i get is a error when starting !PC and the nic cannot be found in Windows 95. Does anyone has an idea? #acorn #retrocomputing
