@vsp the loss of confidence of the house doesn't ALWAYS lead to an election. If someone else can secure confidence, then they are commissioned to form government.

I think that's what's needed: someone to unite enough #moderate, #pragmatic, and #patriotic #representatives from both parties in a unity coalition, in what's usually called in #Australia a #ConfidenceandSupply arrangement: that is, members agree to support the leadership and keep the government open, but votes on bills are not bound.
