  3. Day 2 #Workshop:

Love to break the myth "#nix is hard to get started" by teaching students to get started into #nixecosystem with basic nix run, nix shell commands. Let's see how far I can do in just 2 hours and at the end plan to show some cool stuffs like preconfigured #packages, bootstrapping things with just a single 'nix run' command and if time permits to demonstrate #devenv

  5. UPS: We'll be delivering your package tomorrow.
Me: Cool, so you got it?
UPS: No, but we will deliver your package tomorrow.
Me: The package is still in a different country, you won't get it across Europe in time to get it here tomorrow.
    UPS: See you tomorrow 👋

  7. Strange that neither #FreeBSD nor #OpenBSD have jbig2 in their packages. I wasn't able to get it to compile on FreeBSD, either. :/

  11. @TomAoki maybe you know a brief explanation,

"… is it normal for FreeBSD-ports-kmods to lack kernel module packages for NVIDIA?"

That is, FreeBSD-ports-kmods distinct from the FreeBSD-ports repo.

Quoted from the foot of <reddit.com/r/freebsd/comments/>.

    Thanks

  13. The #brain is a painfully powerful device, hungry for #truth. That's why we #patch it with tiny #lies. To numb the fury that consumes us. But we are also orderly and social creatures: we love to bundle and distribute these lies in #packages, and create discussions, developers, and administrators. They are totems around which we dance and kill. What makes us unique is the package of axioms we choose to believe. #imho
