🥴 Ah, the age-old dilemma: to push or to pull 🤔. Our brave author embarks on an epic quest of #overexplaining the obvious, inventing a mythical "push-pull" combo like it’s the Fusion Cuisine of #Reactivity. 🧙♂️ Because who doesn't love wading through #algorithmic #soup to solve a problem no one had? 🍜

@mjd Obviously the argument falls apart if one is looking at an English translation of Euclid because neither English nor Latin were popular languages then. (The oldest known Ancient Latin inscriptions predate Euclid's elements by a few hundred years.) Going down to the Bodleian we can read a Greek text copied in 888 AD where propositions end with the text (Prop 7 from Book I) ὅπερ ἔδει δεῖξαι corresponding to Q.E.D. (quod erat demonstrandum) or (Prop 10) ὅπερ ἔδει ποιῆσαι which corresponds to Q.E.F. (quod erat faciendum) because Prop 10 is a construction.

I ordered a new journal to use as 2025 reading journal and I’m so excited about it, despite having 2 journals in B5 from last year’s sale lying around already  .
One of them (a teal coloured one, heh!) I want to use for my personal journal next year and the other one is black and I didn’t want to use black again for my reading journal, so now I ordered a dark purple one and it will arrive tomorrow and I’m so gonna start setting it up over the weekend! :ablobcatenjoy: :blobble_bobble: :ablobcatenjoy: :blobble_bobble: #overexplaining -
@wild1145 working in transport that's an interesting tradeoff. The parking charge will be a combination of true cost (value of land at Heathrow, operational cost, insurance), market factors (what will people pay? Keeping space free for people who REALLY want to drive!)
And of course the taxi can almost guarantee a return fare, so incentivised to be competitive.
