  1. 🇬🇧 It’s official:
    I have #Type2Diabetes

I found out March 9 and I am in disbelief. It was my cardiologist who diagnosed me. After he looked at the home #OralGlucoseToleranceTest aka #OGTT results I had handed to him.

I gave copies of the same test results to two GPs aka PCPs. Both ignored it…

But the cardiologist not only said he had no doubt about it now but that he wanted to put me on a small dose of Mounjaro.

It wasn’t a drug I would have asked for but it’s been incredibly effective at helping me control my glucose. I still have to be very careful what I eat. But my results are now more in line with my compliance. Plus I lost 14kg / 30lbs.

I wish I didn’t have #diabetes, but since I do, I am happy that it’s been finally recognized after 20 months of efforts on my part trying to figure out what was going on using #ContinuousGlucoseMonitors.

The cardiologist said he didn’t want me to have another cardiovascular event but that the glucose and some lipids were too high, caused by diabetes, and needed to be better controlled. I just couldn’t believe it. I kept expecting to wake up from a dream. 😂

I’ve been on the new drug 2 1/2 months. My A1C is my best in 2 years. But I paid for the test myself & I won’t have my doctor-ordered, insurance-paid testing with lipids panel result until I’m scheduled for my next doctors visits in the summer.
