@Cetraria Unusual. I had oddness when I wore contacts, but only in one eye or the other. I've had my lenses replaced, and one eye is getting progressively better (the doc swears it wasn't intentional, but it's happening, anyway). But that's me, and it's not sudden.
It doesn't sound like it's just in one eye. That's different from my vision challenges.
Maybe we have an #optometrist or #opthalmologist on Mastodon to help. I think I'd get to an optometrist asap to run tests, and to an opthalmologist if nothing is found.
Maybe you have an infection causing pressure some antibiotic would clear up. Fingers crossed that it's trivial. 🤞 And good luck!

Van Gogh wasn't big on ear health, but he never missed an eye appointment. I got checked out, bought contacts, and waded through the glasses. I STILL need to replace my college frames and lenses.

The latest upsell at the #optometrist is "myopia control" lenses for kids.
The idea is to slow the progression of #myopia (nearsightedness). About $300 more per pair. Gotta wear them till at least 18 starting at age 8-12.
But if your kid's like mine & might only need them sometimes... you now HAVE to wear them all the time.
They also reduce your peripheral vision through the lenses.
And at $300 per pair, say you buy new ones every couple years, that's around $1500 more.

The fascinating thing for me was that the green dot had colour separated by having a yellow edge and a blue edge around opposite halves of the dot... 💛💚💙
Not only that, around the outer edge of the white area (which was circular too), the yellow and blue semi-circle edges were there... just reversed!! 😮

Finally got back to the #optometrist to pick up my new reading #glasses & there’s something wrong with the prescription - each eye individually fine but together they seem to be massively screwed up - anyone else had this? It’s been nearly an hour since I tried them on for about 2 mins & only just starting to feel like my left eye isn’t being twisted with a wrench. Headache receding too. So I have a new appointment to be retested. In a month because all is chaos & the calendar is full

I'm so mad at my #eye #doctor. The technician did the #vision exam and came up with the prescription for my new #eyeglasses, doc just signed it.
Doc only looked at the eyes for a few minutes after they were dilated. First time seeing him because of #insurance provider issues.
My script changed so much that I was concerned, and I mentioned it seemed way off. He shrugged me off.
They only do the exam.
I got my eyeglasses today and they are so off you can't see through them
