  1. @cryptomilk #neovim have some great distributions but I still think that if you want to start with Neovim, start with creating your own config. Because it'll force you to not only use it but also learn it 😊.

  6. @asltf If you don't have experience with #neovim then how are you going to code in it (you could still do it, after all it's just a text editor, but not productively). You should at least need to know how it is configured. You could use existing distributions like, #NvChad, #lazyvim, #astrovim, #spacevim, etc. Or, if you got time, create your own config -> youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsz

  11. Although there are some fantastic #Neovim distributions out there (like #lazyvim, #nvchad, #astrovim, etc.) that provides everything out of the box but, I still prefer creating my own config. It makes me feel that everything I do is in my own control, every plugin, every keymap.

What y'all think about this ?

    So happy ʘ‿ʘ

    #neovim #mouseless #editor

  13. @humblehacker

So you want #neovim to be a full fledged IDE!

Everytime I hate fighting with #vim and #lua,
#NvChad has my back with things pack up pretty well sane defaults.
    (+ a shit ton of themes 😄)

The only prebaked nvim I could stick with.
No doubt it's for you tooooo. 😉

    It's intentional github.com/OS-1337/OS1337?tab= :

    - #OS2 was taken, #OS3 would've basically been a #speedrun attempt to get angry mail from #IBM as would've likely been with #OS420 and other names...

I mean, if #NvChad can have a #meme-based naming why not an entire #OS?

After all, We've already seen #HannahMontanaLinux and #AmogOS so why not [something that'll be fun to use](youtube.com/watch?v=wYfpptgb6W) on a #VT69?

  18. Just released #visimp 0.6.0 :) It's a minimal, modular, and fully declarative alternative to more popular #neovim distributions (e.g., #nvchad, #lunarvim, or #astrovim). A friend of mine and I have been working on it for the past few year.

  23. я слишком ленивый, чтобы прописывать каждый установленный lsp сервер. так что, #nvchad, всего хорошего, перехожу на #lazyvim

  24. #neovide has become my favorite text editor. The latest release includes smooth scrolling, window animations, plus a bunch of cool stuff. All hardware accelerated while not trashing battery life.

    #neovim #NvChad

  25. Hey, #Neovim people. Thoughts on a good mostly pre-made distro? I started learning with NVChad for 3-4 months, then started making my own config from scratch, but I still don't have the experience to make it fully functional.

Considering going back to a dist. Thoughts on anyone in particular?
#LazyVim? #NVChad? Other? Looking for something that lets me do things the vim-like way so I can actually properly learn that, and then eventually start making my own config from a blank slate.

  26. I am trying to setup Conjure with NvChad but even if I vim.g.maplocalleader = "," it seems that the local leader is not recognized, is there someone who can help? I am sure I've missed something but I cannot see it...

  27. Thanks to , I'm now also a user. Cool editor.

  28. is a script/tool to configure NVIM for you. It sets some nice themes, extensions,... that make it almost feel like any GUI editor. I'd recommend to give it a try.

You can still later change things if you want and make it your own, but it allows you to really get started with it.

Tip: Install a Nerd Font like "Fira Code Nerd Font", or icons wont work :)

  29. Good morning folks. This week I have taken a dive and am experimenting with learning #neovim (currently rocking #neovide front-end, with the #NvChad starting config). So far enjoying my little venture into this world, but it cannot be denied that the learning curve is STEEP.

Does anyone have any suggestions for resources / tips to smooth out this learning curve a little?

  30. @JustineSmithies I recently switched from #LunarVim to #NvChad and I’ve been happy with it. It is very opinionated in how you configure it but if you read the docs it’s pretty straightforward.

  31. And so, I got tired of trying to configure :neovim: #Neovim from scratch. Using a distro is the sanest thing I can do at this point.
    #NvChad is pretty cool.

  32. Questioning myself why i did not look into nvChad earlier. This is so good!

    🤦‍♂️

  34. I've been really enjoying goofing around with preconfigured distros. I put together my own, and that was fun, but there are people _way_ better than me at this kind of thing.

really has my attention right now. I like what it comes with and the mappings are super close to what my muscle memory wants anyway.

The NVIM_APPNAME env var is such a killer feature for trying stuff out without having to wipe our your stuff every time.

  35. ✨Nvim 0.90 release: and this feature looks especially made for me to experiment lazyvim, NvChad, Astronvim easily😌

    - Not really 😌 but a good video on NvChad

First question: , , or DIY?
