As a member of the European Union Parliament, I recently spoke about the importance of protecting consumers in the video game industry. Specifically, I called for a ban on loot boxes and gambling-like mechanics in games, as these can be harmful and exploitative, especially for minors.

To achieve this goal, I proposed several concrete measures:

1. Implement filters to detect and remove sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, or mobbing content from online communities.
2. Regulate corporate practices that prioritize profits over player well-being, such as using opaque monetization models or manipulative psychological tactics.
3. Introduce stricter guidelines for game developers to ensure they are not exploiting players with gambling-like mechanics or predatory microtransactions.
4. Educate players and parents about the potential risks of video games and provide resources for responsible gaming practices.
