In the 8th grade I had a civics teacher that told us the word "Nasty" originated from Sir Thomas Nast, a political cartoonist in the 1800s.
He meant well, but like most of what they tried to sell me in school, it just wasn't true.
You know, like the food pyramid, pretty much everything about the war on drugs, pretty much everything about Christopher Columbus, and pretty much everything else that isn't math.
