Catboy hair and being manhandled by Huang Jingyu (the day after being manhandled by Wang Anyu)? Truly this show is a blessing for me

RIP Wang Anyu, you tried.

So the more sleep-deprived he is the more ridiculously adorable Huang Jingyu becomes (apparently) as well as nonsensical. In the meantime, Wang Anyu is sweating bullets because he's the undercover guy again, while everyone thinks it's Hu Xianxu because he's the resident smart guy (you know I thought my colleague was the youngest uncle I've ever met but apparently it was only my limited life experience*)

In other words, my disaster OT3 is disastering as expected.

*tbf I feel like Chinese guys turn to uncledom at a rate currently unbeatable by other cultures.

I feel guilty enjoying the segments when they're clearly still shooting deep into the night (and well into the morning) and brains are clearly cycling on little rest so let me just enjoy this daytime installment of their standard Mafia game where unfortunately HXX was wronged yet again (WAY & JC were the wolves and no one guessed it but him, but he got voted out), but this time in Italy where they're all cosplaying secret agents. Big "smart guy who dies in the second act after cracking the safe," energy.

This show is really selling me on the idea that 1. Wang Anyu needs a comedy, and 2. He needs to be the bimbo. He's very Lucy (which is cracking me up because in this duo Hu Xianxu has strong Ricky energy). How very desilu of them.

Extremely normal Natural High dynamic: Wang Anyu volunteering first for Cool Guy points, Hu Xianxu representing big Is This Motherfucker For Real Energy, and Bai Jingting being gently confused by every new game rules.

This season is incredible for two dynamics: Bai Jingting's overall confusion every single time; and Hu Xianxu's look of absolute pain everytime he gets accused wrongly

After implicating everyone with executing his idea (they're moving the burning curry into a pressure cooker and Huang Jingyu stepped up to actually try and close the cooker while everyone inches away from a possible explosion), the man, the moment, Fan Chengcheng:

It honestly took me until the pyjamas episode but I'm really appreciating how much they're leaning onto the mascotry, so far in this season they're even wearing badges for this first couple of episodes. Anyway season 2 (first appearance) v season 3 (current):

Telephone games' humour depends very much on how terrible the relay is and this acting challenge version is especially hilarious because it hit the jobbing actors in the cast (versus the "personality hires" kind of celebs) right in their feels. I only screenshotted the Hu Xianxu turn (when he starts the chain) but the Bai Jingting and Wang Anyu ones are also fucking funny.

I refuse to be on SVIP tier on wetv (just VIP 💀) so I already caught the first two eps of the new season… And this is turning into such a temptation because the cast and concept has really gelled this season but noooo I must keep this as my weekly feel-good tv. Just watching the new extended trailer (without subtitles even) is making me crack up.

If you don't know the show, the whole premise of Natural High is the cast visiting a few locations (so far in China) and be exposed to the local culture so it's part travelogue and foodie tour but also a demented gathering of funny people which is inevitable when you keep making them play variations of the Werewolf game and also parlor games. Wetv also has a habit of uploading their variety shows on YouTube, and subtitles are decent enough.
