@andrewabernathy I’m not claiming to know what the community thinks but I’ll get discussion started. Consistently using a locality-specific hashtag is a great start, like #MyTown or #MyTown_Local even maybe. That way, your followers can easily add a filter to mute those posts, if they are irrelevant to them. More likely to reach other people in that locality too.
Mastodon loves a good content warning but completely hidden is even better.
