Today's #music2work2 to was inspired (and found) thanks to yesterday's posts about the John Dwyer set. It turns out there's a festival in his honor and here are some lovely recordings of tunes he wrote as well as a few he just enjoyed playing. The video was made during Covid so it is a bit spartan, but the music is particularly sweet and pure drop. Some particularly tasty bouzouki backing as well as the lovely Edel Fox on #concertina. #fiddle #bouzouki #accordion

I haven't really featured much fiddle in my posts thus far, so I will today with this classic recording from 1982 featuring Kevin Burke and Michael O'Domhnaill, two of the absolute best at their trade. Going very #trad with today's selection. John and Haley are both fabulous ambassadors for Irish Music. John is one of the hardest working musicians I know (both with his carpentry business and his accordion) and Haley is an amazing fiddle player who now tours with Riverdance or one of those companies. Never saw anyone soak up the tunes the way she did over the years at Swannanoa. Both are also as nice as can be! #Irishtrad #fiddle #accordion #music2work2

I saw him at this CD release show at the Ennis Trad Fest a few years back. Wonderful CD, and just realized that track two features Caltlin Nic Gabhann. Been working on this set with my local flute playing friend. If you play flute, check out McGoldrick, McSherry, and Brian Finnegan.
