I haven't really featured much fiddle in my posts thus far, so I will today with this classic recording from 1982 featuring Kevin Burke and Michael O'Domhnaill, two of the absolute best at their trade. Sessions are the heart of #Irishtrad music and this CD recorded live from the Druid in Boston captures the music well. Last time I was in Boston got to go by the Druid with my old C'ville bandmate Joe and heard a couple of the fiddlers featured here tearing it up. Good examples of session tunes as well for anyone looking for resource. #fiddle #DADGAD #Irishsession #music2work2

Going very #trad with today's selection. John and Haley are both fabulous ambassadors for Irish Music. John is one of the hardest working musicians I know (both with his carpentry business and his accordion) and Haley is an amazing fiddle player who now tours with Riverdance or one of those companies. Never saw anyone soak up the tunes the way she did over the years at Swannanoa. Both are also as nice as can be! #Irishtrad #fiddle #accordion #music2work2

Today's tunes to work to is Ulaid w/ Michael McGoldrick. I'm a big fan of Sean Óg Graham's guitar (and his quick string change here!)... these are not easy transitions. Been working on this set with my local flute playing friend. If you play flute, check out McGoldrick, McSherry, and Brian Finnegan.
