  1. Games 31-32:
We're grouping these up, because to get outscored 7-0 by the 🐴 #MulosAGB is, frankly, shameful.

#31 we can excuse. 🇵🇷 Monbo Cortés is a hell of a pitcher.

But getting shut out by 🇵🇷 Hernández when he walks 7? Going 1/3 on steals with a pea-shooter behind the plate? 🇭🇹 Bourgeois getting lit up by a bunch of teenagers? Ugh.

  2. Of all teams to blow up the #BucanerosARR :bucaneros: for ten runs, the #LobosARE :lobos: were not high on the list, but here we are. It's the Bucas' first loss of the season.

That leaves the #MulosAGB :mulos: as the only unbeaten team, after they sneak past the #TiburonesAGU :tiburones: in 14 innings to start the season 9-0.

  3. We're wrong again! Germán Ruiz's losing grand slam was today, not 4/8.

But we don't have time for that, because Juan Quintana (#GuabalerosCOM :guabaleros:) has the first 2-HR day for Betances, and thus hangs the first defeat on the #RebeldesMOC's :rebeldes: season.

The #MulosAGB :mulos: mount a three-run comeback 9th against the #ArzobisposAGD :arzobispos: to keep them winless.

  4. This puts the #ChupacabrasCAN :chupacabras: at 2-1 to start off. Let's talk about sweeper teams:

    - #MulosAGB :mulos: over #GuabalerosCOM :guabaleros: was a three-game pitching duel: 4-3, 3-1, 2-1.

    - #CorsosYAU :corsos: over #EléctricosGUA :electricos: saw CF Radamés Díaz steal 6 of 9, including a 4-SB Game 1.

    - #CafeterosMAR :cafeteros: sweep the #CítricosLMA :citricos:—and need that .340 team average to do it, as after a 7-1 loss in G1, the Agridulces force extras in G2 and lose 5-4 in G3.

  5. 4/2/1888:
Congrats to David Alvarado (RF, #LeonesPON :leones: [sigh]) for being the only Liga Hostos player to hit an HR, his 6th career shot in 959 AB.

Other whackers (with career HR / AB totals noted):

    - J. López (1B, #ChupacabrasCAN :chupacabras:) (17 HR, 3212 AB)

    - M. León (SS, #CafeterosMAR :cafeteros:) (18 HR, 1688 AB)

    - M. Morán (CF, #TitanesMOR :titanes:) (7 HR, 329 AB)

    - C. Sánchez (CF, #PotrosSIS :potros:) (15 HR, 1959 AB)

    - A. Trujillo (LF, #MulosAGB :mulos:) (10 HR, 3495 AB)

  6. 07/03/1886:
Right now, 9 teams are locked into the playoffs.

    #ValencianosJUN :valencianos: (61-13)
    #BrujosGUM :brujos: (61-16)
    #TortugasCUL :tortugas: (53-21)
    #MogotesFLO :mogotes: (51-25)
    #CapitanesMAY :capitanes: (50-25)
    #GrisesHUM :grises: (50-26)
    #PiratasQUE :piratas: (49-24)
    #MulosAGB :mulos: (49-26)
    #CorsosYAU :corsos: (47-23)

  7. The #MulosAGB :mulos: have an incredible talent for spotting outfielders with cannons for arms, which is probably why they somehow got Make Jarisnick on a contrato simple.

They've since had to pay him, and let's be clear: they're not paying him enough.

Though he's not the rangiest centerfielder in the league, he's among the most effective ones, making outs where a lot of his fellow OF generals stumble.

We'll say it: Jarisnick is absolutely future Ilustrísimo material.

  8. Cruz Santillán—for whom the #MulosAGB :mulos: got Juan Blancas and José Gonzales, neither of whom have played in the season—is an odd kind of pace-setter. As a hitter, he's competent at each facet without dominating any; as a converted shortstop, he can middle-infield with the best.

  9. CW: :lnp: preseason predictions

    LB Cordillera Este:
Same as above, but with the #MulosAGB. :mulos:

When you've added a center fielder who can regularly throw out two guys at home during a game, you're taking some serious stress off a starting rotation with a few more years of dominance left. That's all.

  10. MAKE JARISNICK (#2/100) (CF, #MulosAGB :mulos:)

If a team immediately moves a rookie into the starting lineup, that's a good sign.

If doing it means sending batting title winner Ángel Hernández to the bench and putting longtime CF Arturo Trujillo in left, that's a great one.

Jarisnick is batting 8th, which is a Gil Segundo-like placement for a man built for leadoff work. Good on them for keeping a speed/patience threat that low in the order, and we hope it works out.

  11. Don't worry, Make Jarisnick (#MulosAGB :mulos:) and José Garza (#AtléticosSGR :atleticos:) fans—we'll find some way to pick them up. Maybe a Monday matinee is in our future.

  12. 03/11/1886:
    Latest on our special prospects.

With another week of data, most everyone's returning to normal. Fernández (#BrujosGUM :brujos:) calmed down a bit, Garza (#AtléticosSGR :atleticos:) looks more like a rookie CF, and Ensalada (#ValerososCIA :valerosos:) and Jarisnick (#MulosAGB :mulos:) are getting used to playing in a pro league.

    More below.
