  46. “Archlinux dà meno problemi di Fedora, a quanto pare.” (Fedora merdistico per morrolinux vs. octospacc)

    Come qualcuno saprà, l’altro mese avevo installato Fedora KDE in dual boot sul mio portatile, perché Windows (merda) mi si è stranamente corrotto, al punto che fallisce tutti i tipi di aggiornamenti, e io non posso permettermi di formattare il disco per fare una reinstallazione pulita, quindi yikes… Ebbene, io cercavo stabilità, un sistema operativo che porca puttana semplicemente funzionasse e basta senza mai rompersi, criteri per cui Fedora sembra fin troppo venduto in giro… e invece, è stato il peggiore errore della mia vita: dopo 2-3 settimane scarse di uso, si è rotto senza che io facessi un cazzo di niente!!! Una mattina ha preso, e il desktop con tutti i servizi annessi non partiva più, e tutt’ora non parte più; riesco giusto ad accedere alla TTY (col WiFi che nemmeno si collega automaticamente) e constatare che nei log non trovo un cazzo di niente di utile (poi, c’è da dire che io ho problemi di skill a leggere i log, ma comunque). E quindi sono dovuta tornare a Windows. 🤡

    Non lo avevo mai detto, sia perché mi è sfuggita l’occasione, ma anche perché altrimenti so che arrivano certi a dire che ho sbagliato qualcosa io, e che non è vero che Linux si rompe, e soprattutto non Fedora oooh ma come puoi bestemmiare in questo modo… e tutte queste stronzate che mi fanno desiderare che seduta stante esplodano o tutte le persone o tutti i computer, perché ormai io non reggo più tutto ciò… Ma, se è morrolinux in persona — che, per chi non lo conoscesse, è il capo di Linux, come suggerisce il fatto che il nome di Linux deriva dal suoa dire che Fedora dà in realtà più problemi persino di Arch — distribuzione memeticamente nota per essere piena di problemini e spaccarsi di continuo, al punto che solo chi abita nello scantinato dei genitori può usarlo come daily driverallora direi che qualche parola sulla stessa falsa riga posso permettermela. 🥰

    Lui (che ha usato Fedora GNOME) ha avuto in realtà altri problemi, comunque minori, non il sistema operativo che un giorno prende e si suicida (e poi dicono che non dovrei farlo io come conseguenza degli effetti del dover stare appresso a tutti ‘sti rottami di software…), ma l’andazzo è chiaro ed è comune. Su Arch, conferma lui, i problemi ci sono (fin troppi per i miei gusti, quindi io certamente me ne tengo a debita distanza…), ma sono piccoli e in genere facilmente risolvibili, e magari capitano in seguito ad aggiornamenti di pacchettini di merda… Su Fedora, invece, quando qualcosa si spacca, non si capisce perché cazzo è successo, e soprattutto che minchia fare per risolvere. Prima, gli è in realtà apparso un problema di freeze random, che non succede con un’installazione pulita, quando ha scambiato il disco del sistema mettendolo in un PC diverso… e (per quanto ne sappiamo) nessuna altra distro fa questa cosa. Poi, da installazione pulita, dopo un aggiornamento, sono apparsi problemi infiniti, anche questi a caso, con lo stack audio, che zio pera… E che dire, a questo punto. 🪱

    Comunque, nel mio caso, anche se avesse avuto la decenza di non esplodere senza alcun cazzo di motivo, Fetora è ad ogni modo smerdato e non mi faceva fare tutto quello che mi serviva… Non voglio proprio parlare del fatto che bastasse tenere aperto il browser e 3 altre app pesanti per saturare la RAM e far freezare completamente il PC costringendo nel 50% dei casi ad un hard reboot, perché mi capita con tutte le distro Linux su tutti i PC, anche se su Windows no… Ma non riuscivo a fare una fottuta condivisione di schermo su OBS o in qualsiasi browser, perché o Wayland è ancora rotto in culo, o Fedora lo ha configurato spaccato; ma proprio non c’era versi, né con le versioni native delle app né con Flatpak… una schifezza; per fare la live di Pokémon Z-A mentre ero all’università dovetti usare Windows. E pensare che io l’ho installato comunque controvoglia, solo per una speranza di OS stabile, perché ha aspetti schifosi come i codec video mancanti (che non sono riuscita ad installare del tutto dopo averci provato)… e manco quello ho avuto! Che truffa!!! 😭

    Vabbé, sono cucinata. Prossima volta installo Ubuntu, anche se lo so che mi si romperà pure quello, e io piangerò. Siamo nel 2025 e ancora non c’è un fottuto sistema operativo desktop che funziona e basta, perché Linux si rompe, Windows è programmato con l’IA e si rompe, odio aver bisogno dei computer per esistere, bla bla bla, l’ho già detto fin troppe volte… Ma, comunque, con questa storia una lezione nuova l’ho imparata: meglio stare lontani da Fetora in particolare tra le distro perché, come dice il nome, è veramente puzzolente e vi porterà alla morte dell’anima per asfissia. E vorrei zio pertuso togliere il pelo completamente al pinguino di Linux, perché quello sta lì tutto innocente, come se ne avesse il diritto… e ok, sul server Linux è epico, nulla da dire, ma mi servirà anche un PC utilizzabile, no??? 🚮
