Dear #Windows users.
Plz don't switch. I know we at #Microsoft that we enshitificied the whole operating system, but we're serious about rectifying that!
We swear we won't do anymore #MonopolyByDefault , #VendorLockin, bundling all kinds of crap and letting vendors inject code straight into the lower kernel rings (#SolarWinds)... well maybe a little.
But we're using #SteamOS as a benchmark!
After 25+ years at Microsoft, I can tell you why Windows was neglected

#MonopolyByDefault is the bread and butter of #US #tech. Steve Balmer famously said "you can't compete against free", and the funny part is that Americans have a saying: "there's no such thing as a free lunch".
The fact is that #American #AI and #SocialMedia is basically a way for the US government to spy on foreign nation states and all of their people. This data is in turn used to manipulate people.
I say #tariff them.
#Trump threatens 100% tax on #European imports

Listen, here's the #SiliconValley agenda for #AI:
* Race to #MonopolyByDefault (everyone wants to usurp #Google's throne)
* Increase #DataCollection, #Tracking, #Profiling tenfold by having users WILLINGLY give away their financial information
* Sell said data, manipulate markets with it and generally do a bit of mass- AND targeted psychological manipulation
* Sell the systems to #authoritarian states to form a #SurveillanceState
* Eventually build the same at homehttps://www.theverge.com/ai-artificial-intelligence/923684/musk-brockman-altman-openai-trial

#Degoogling #android sure ain't easy.
Certain apps reliance upon #GooglePlay makes it almost impossible to get rid of.
For instance, I've got an app for a grocery store that allows payment through your card by just scanning a QR code.
The payment method refuses to be activated when the Google Play app is deactivated.
It's pretty obvious to anyone: this is #MonopolyByDefault, #VendorLockin and even a form of #DRM.
I already confirmed my identity by way of #BankID. What more is needed?
