Question for the #MixEngineer and #MusicProduction people, hopefully across different genres

1) Are you still gain staging or in another way setting your levels before mixing?

2) If yes, what kind of meter do you use?

3) If you are producing, do you consider which level your signal hits your effects?

Preferably write your main style/genre

Question for the #mastering and #mixing people!

A recent thread about plugins on the mixbus showed very few (if any) multiband compressors.

Is this a sign of “never use a multiband comp on the mix bus”, something you should fix before the mix bus or did people just forget to name their multiband comps?

I just watched this Mastering.com video, about producing a hip hop tune from start to finish.

Watching the mixing session was especially strange: Never seen anyone so focused on mixing with a LUFS focus?

It’s also completely odd, seeing the studio console function mainly as accoustic treatment and a laptop table. Studio work is definitely not the same as it was in my younger days.
