🧵 … so, taking the risk to call it a day with even more frustration, I asked #AI again, this time for a #Jack client that converts #MIDI #ProgramChange into #MidiCC and this is what it looks like:
Dunno if the CC value range makes sense, it might be wrong and should be 0…127.
But it does the job of converting the 8 Program Change pads of my AKAI LPD8 MIDI Controller into something that the #MidiChannelize plugin can use. So I can route incoming MIDI notes to channels 1…8, using the 8 pads.
Resulting in 8 separate instances of #DecentSampler that can be “activated” using my MIDI controller.
Now this is really not how #MainStage would do things, and it's quite complicated. Also it only works because Decent Sampler can be set to disable its FX when playing back samples, so it won't eat any CPU.
Yet, sometimes doing things in strange ways can create new concepts that turn out pretty straightforward. I will see.
