So shields, I feel, are like healing magic where usually, you want only the player to have it or it feels unfair.
I hate an mf who's gimmick is "shield". Let me hurt you.

I do think I get some of the design ethos here; it is satisfying to dodge. Making bosses more about your dodges then your damage is a thing. But I still want dealing damage to feel satisfying. And the morphball dodges are slick.
But Sylux 1 just took forever, and I never even lost a bar of HP. He's just got so much health.
Echoes made you feel so good for having the ammo to spare to really tear through something.

I do appreciate them forcing you to use the Scan Visor more though; I loved that mechanic, and it's nice to see it worked into the gameplay. I love my scans.
If I ever stream Prime it will be so hard not to scan every colored outline, because I do. I need to learn about that stupid rock. Tell me the rock's story. Tell me how bird people used to worship the rock but now it looks suspiciously like the material Morph Ball Bombs just happen to break.
Love it.

Bosses have so god damn much health in this game. I don't mind a hard fight, but I'm just button mashing over here waiting for meters to drain.

I was pretty busy on my Switch this past week, halfway through #Yoshi and the mysterious book, got platinum rank in Mario Party Jamboree and consider it 'beaten'. Got enough fun out of #TomodachiLife that I'm shelving it until the october stream. Beat Air Riders' true final boss, that was fun, shelved it since 100% unlocks is nuts. Almost done with Mario Wonder's DLC content.
And now I'm back in #MetroidPrime4 on hard mode, halfway into Volt Forge. Still hate the teleporting bots.

Should I replay #Metroid Prime 4 on Hard Mode?
It was my least favorite Prime game. I have pretty good memories of Hunters, actually. I would put it:2 > 1 > > > 3 > Hunters > > Prime 4
It was good, but the open map was more chore than joy, and the 'back to basecamp' stuff was bizarre and unnecessary. Fun story and areas, but...don't do the open map thing again. Even Fusion had more exciting level connections—all 2 or 3 it had.

Personally the Nintendo Switch 2 is my favorite entry-level gaming device, after the Switch Lite, but list of exclusives are... narrow, to say the least.

I always recommend to play Metroid: Zero Mission and Metroid Prime to start on the #Metroid franchise.
If you like Zero mission: Super Metroid (redux), then Metroid: Samus Returns, Metroid Fusion and Metroid Dread.
If you like Prime: Prime 2 Echoes, Prime 3 Corruption.
The rest of Metroid games only amount to a YouTube summary and a post on BlueSky.

Developing a game especifically for newcomers has never, ever worked.
