  1. 🔥 The Legendary Original INCUBUS 🔥

💀 Serpent Temptation remains a timeless masterpiece — a sonic assault of razor-sharp riffs, unrelenting speed, and unmatched intensity.

  2. @lumiukko there's also @releasebot which posts the releases from the #MetalArchives. You get a lot of underground bands from there.

If you want it as a website there is @RattleHead that posts the same information but as a stand alone web page.

You find the releases at releases.bruta.link/outbox

I didn't read reviews for any Opeth albums before this metaljourney to have a fully unbiased experience.

Today I couldn't resist the urge to check how users on #MetalArchives rated the ones I already listened to and saw that Heritage only got 58% and Pale Communion got 78%

I know this is subjective and all, but are they stupid or what? Don't they have ears?

Oh and #Sorceress continues to be great 🤘

  4. As an excellent example of positive interaction on the internet between complete strangers to the common goal of sharing their passion with other people, I got into contact with the site operators of #MetalArchives and they graciously allowed the @releasebot to continue fetching data from their servers.

Special thanx to @RandomMusickMayhem that prompted me into starting this exchange.

Being old (in internet years) and cynical I had no real hope of a site operator answering, not to mention be helpful, on a simple email request. Thank you MetalArchives!

  5. I’ve lost track of the #1001albums and as I saw, I’m not alone with the assumption that it should be named something like: I’d rather die before I listen to these 1001 albums.

    So here’s my counterproposal:

In the #MetalArchives forum there’s a voting for the album of the year. Here are the results for 2023: forum.metal-archives.com/viewt

    Pick an album a day.

#Programmers : who can make a similar site with these albums “relatively” fast? I’m ready to donate for the hosting.

  6. The Metal Archives album of the year just dropped, very excited to find new bangers.

I'm partway through the first album on the list, and I'm loving it, I'm surprised I haven't heard of it or the band before.

And very happy to see some of the entries on here like Hellripper and King Gizz, makes sense to find them there.

  7. Ever since @MetalheadDana tooted about the great #BellWitch yesterday, a question is bugging me ever since: how is #FuneralDoom undisputedly considered #Metal where e.g. #Metalcore is not?

The fundamental #Metalarchives rule is: it must contain metal riffs.

Does that apply to #MirrorReaper? There's not even guitars not to mention any riff?

Don't get me wrong, I love Mirror Reaper and I don't give a 💩 about genres, I was just wondering 🤔

  8. @thomas @MiseryPath @releasebot if #metalarchives would try to get data about bands which are "more" underground they'd get to Australia.

  9. @thomas @MiseryPath hmmm, #metalarchives doesn't have this new album listed. :( No wonder it wasn't posted by the @releasebot for today.

  10. The metal releases bot is now feeding from multiple sources.

Latest of them is #MetalArchives, which tracks very-very-very niche and underground releases.

In the future you can expect some really brutal ethos in your timeline if you're following @releasebot .

In the following weeks I'll probably make some QOL improvements outside of posting just terse release names, as some of the sources give a little more information than just artist and title. :)
