Over Sunday Hardcore Matinee: Ignite + Cancer Bats

Op 1 november komt IGNITE samen met special guests CANCER BATS (+ to be announced) naar Muziekgieterij!

Ignite
Ignite brak in 1993 door in de punk- en hardcorescene van Orange County, met een mix van rauwe intensiteit, catchy melodieën en teksten die echt gewicht in de schaal legden. In 2022 sloeg de band een nieuw hoofdstuk in met hun self-titled album waarop Eli Santana als zanger werd geïntroduceerd. Op dit album komt alles terug wat fans zo geweldig vinden aan Ignite: songs die van begin tot eind mee te zingen zijn, krachtige boodschappen en een rauwe energie die gemaakt is voor het podium.

Dit is een band die overtuiging omzet in melodie, energie in saamhorigheid en van elke show een herinnering maakt dat punk en hardcore springlevend zijn.

Cancer Bats
Al meer dan twintig jaar staan de Canadese hardcore-grootheden Cancer Bats bekend om hun snoeiharde mix van hardcore en metal. In die tijd toerden ze onafegbroken de wereld rond, brachten ze zeven studioalbums uit en bouwden ze een reputatie op met rauwe, door zweet doordrenkte en onvergetelijke liveoptredens.

Vanuit hun bescheiden begin in Toronto, Ontario, trok de band al snel het land door met zware riffs, dreunende baslijnen, beukende drums en meeslepende zang. Het resultaat: circle pits, stagedives en een glimlach op iedereens gezicht. Door de jaren heen heeft Cancer Bats zo een toegewijde wereldwijde aanhang opgebouwd.

Są na scenie od końca 2023 roku i mają na swoim koncie EPkę polychrome oraz kilka singli. Supportowali znaczących, międzynarodowych artystów, takich jak Boston Manor, They Are Gutting a Body of Water, Glimmer czy SPRINTS.

Czterech przyjaciół, dla których muzyka to nie tylko granie – to sposób, by wyrzucić z siebie emocje, opowiedzieć o tym, co ważne i połączyć ludzi pod sceną.

Bob Mould clearly won the post-Husker Du battle, he's released classic albums almost every decade since they broke up as a solo artist and Sugar's few releases are some of the best stuff of the 90s. But that doesn't mean people should ignore how solid Grant Hart's work with Nova Mob and as a solo artist is. Listening to The Last Days of Pompeii which is a good, ambitious little record.

formed in Sweden in 1994 with Aaron Goulding (vocals),
Henrik Nilsson (lead guitar), Stefan Glendell (rhythm guitar), Oskar
Andersson (bass), and Martin Bodin (drums). Between 1994–1998, they released Long Distance(EP), Drippings of the Past(LP), The Soft Song(EP), No Better, No Worse(split EP with Adhesive) and Where YouPut Your Trust(LP) on Bad Taste Records (Warner/Chappell).
In 1997, Matthias Jagborn (R.I.P.) and Patrik Sundin joined on guitar, co-writing Yesterday’s End(LP). Pridebowl toured worldwide and became the first foreign punk band to play in China before disbanding in 1998.
Around 2002, Aaron reformed the band with Corey, Wayne, Matt, and Todd to release Tired(EP).
In 2023, Aaron revived Pridebowl once more—this time with Levi Dixon(USA), Andy Constantinou (UK), Heath Rowley (AUS), and Juan de Lange(SA). They played the Red Bridge Festival in Quebec on June 8, 2024, and released Hostage on People of Punk Rock Records.
In late 2024, the band released their first live album, Picking Up the Pieces, Live at The Mill

Melodic hardcore from the south
Flame Still Burns (Vaals, NL). A group of old friends from the south of Limburg who share a love for fast and positive hardcorepunk and youthcrew. After releasing a 7” in 2023, they have been working on an album. Shows have been scarce the last 2 years due to some setbacks, but they will be back. They can’t wait to play some new songs in their favorite hangout Bluff

FINAL JUSTICE
Final Justice is a new Dutch hardcore punk band featuring Polish, Greek and Russian members, delivering raw, furious, and energetic music inspired by 90s American hardcore and early 2000s Swedish scenes. Known for a no-nonsense, high-intensity sound, they released their debut demo on Hardcore Tattoo Records

The other day I listened to Minority of One by Dag Nasty for the first time and it is actually a really good record for coming 15 years or so after the band's best work. They are just so well suited for emotional, personal ethics-centered melodic hardcore at any age.
