Ugh, I went from sleeping ten to twelve hours in the first two days, to only managing three hours of sleep last night.
My focus was pretty decent yesterday, but it’s absolutely fucked today. #MedLog

So I crashed pretty hard last week, and instead of trying to force myself to work through it with the meds I was on I used the opportunity to come off them and have started on something new today.
I’m incredibly thankful that I have a psychiatrist that trusts me to make my own changes if something’s not working. Now let’s see how this one goes.

Forgot I had stuff to do today, so after a week crook, and a Saturday where I could to take it easy, I opted to have a weekend off ADHD meds. I’ve taken my usual weekday dose, but I’m still falling asleep whenever I sit down. #MedLog

On new meds for three weeks, and I’m happy to say I’m no longer feeling what I didn’t recognise was depression, I’m now just ridiculously anxious. #MedLog
-
Okay, changing meds again, desperately need to be able to function for the next while. #MedLog

tfw you’re leaving for the psychi appointment you’ve been fangin’ for for weeks comes along and you find an email about it potentially being cancelled if it’s not pre-paid #MedLog

tfw you take your meds and then stare at your phone for over a minute looking at the medication logging interface wondering what you’re meant to be doing there #MedLog

Third day off meds, and I only got a small headache, rather than the debilitating ones I had in the week or so prior to stopping them. I so do love these #ADHD #Superpowers! #MedLog

Started with one two years ago, then two, then a different second, and after months of titration I’m comfortable with the third on its own. Still not ideal, always the hope that a different drug would be perfect, but I’m finally starting to get done things I’ve tried to do for decades. #ADHD #MedLog

CW: Mention of weight and numbers
@aby I gained 15kg when I had IBS+CFS symptoms for around four years, slowly gained another five over the next five or so. I’ve finally got my meds right and lost it all over the past six months. I felt my clothes being loose, but the number surprised the heck out of me when I had to weigh myself before donating blood. Just being able to work towards goals and actually execute plans helped all the other things. #MedLog

Today the first day in months, likely more than half a year, that I’ve managed to work without a pair/body double for more than half an hour or so. Had an hour long meeting at 0800, and I kept working until ~1100, paired again after lunch. I’m quite emotional, and utterly exhausted. #MedLog
-
Dosage seems to be working for now. I currently feel like I can get things done, but pairing is necessary to get me past feeling like to actually getting things done. Building a village is hard. #MedLog
-
@LillyHerself Thank you. When I get the capacity to do so I plan on badgering my pollies to implement a UBI.
Body doubling/pairing is a technique where we ADHD folks trick ourselves into getting stuff done because there’s someone else there. For some folks the mere presence works, for me I need that presence to be responsive. I used to pay for a service where I’d join video sessions with several other people and we’d all do stuff, but those stopped working for me and now I’m relying on a group of friends and family but they’re not always available.
-
Broke down and cried on the phone while asking someone if they have time to do some body doubling. Med review a fortnight ago helped for a week or so, still trying to work out if it’s a dosage issue, but I’ve spent the past three days trying to break out of executive dysfunction. #MedLog

@JessTheUnstill @skinnylatte *holds eir hand up* 🙋🏽
Between having to stay inside due to bushfire smoke, having to be hyperaware of them being ~10km north, south, and east, pandemic, lockdowns, border closures, “business as usual” attitudes, the worst flooding this region has experienced in recorded history, and then interest rate increases, I lost the majority of my coping mechanisms and work.
I managed to get diagnosed shortly after most of the above, but a mixture of anxiety medication emotional flattening and ADHD executive dysfunction caused me to not fear homelessness. I went through months of thinking “if I don’t do these things I’ll be homeless”, not being able to do anything about it and unsurprisingly becoming homeless, before I managed to break out of the worst of the executive dysfunction.
My situation is now considerably worse than it was, but I feel so much better as that I’ve been able to start working on it all again (especially since a med review a fortnight or so ago: #MedLog).

Third day. Yesterday was decent, but while I prepared for the scheduled power outage, it caused hardware failure to a non-UPS backed device that I then had to diagnose and fix, couldn’t regain focus after.
I pondered staying at the same dose, but my to-do list is ridiculously long, so today I increased the second daily dose. Hoping I manage to maintain the ability to focus throughout the working day.

Second working day on new meds. Started them Friday which led to a weekend of domestic productivity. Kitchen tidy for the first time in months, I’ve cleaned what I’ve needed to to be able to cook and eat, but now it’s tidy. Still having issues finding the focus for any sort of economic productivity.
