If Trump can cement his own power, and pass it on to someone more competent (Xi to Trump’s Mao), and other would be dictators like Modi establish themselves, Europe and its democratic allies will become an island (or maybe an archipelago including places like Canada and Taiwan) in a world of rival autocracies. Maintaining that will be costly in all sorts of way.
On the other hand, if Trump is defeated, the US cannot return to the status quo ante. It will take decades to rebuild a new and sustainable political order on the wreckage left by Trump. The two-party system, the Supreme Court, billionaire controlled media and much more will require either replacement or radical restructuring. That will leave its former allies no alternative to disengagement while the US sorts out its own problems.
Europeans and their allies are in an unenviable position. But still better than that of Americans for whom precarious and unequally distributed material prosperity has come at the price of freedom."

Когда я пытался делегировать ИИ-агентам написание кода для рабочих задач, то быстро наступил на все возможные грабли. В итоге на ревью и исправление ошибок уходило больше времени, чем ушло бы на самостоятельную разработку. Чтобы не отказываться от ИИ-помощников, нужно менять сам подход к взаимодействию с ними. В статье я разбираю механику основных проблем — деградации контекста ( Context Rot ), отсутствия долгосрочной памяти и неконтролируемой генерации кода. А также такой подход как spec-driven development . А заодно показываю, как решал эти боли с помощью Vibe-skills — своего минималистичного набора правил и промптов. Рассказываю, как заставить агента (на примере Claude Code) работать строго по спецификациям, использовать TDD и всегда оставлять финальное решение за человеком.

Собрал оркестратор для Codex на базе Beads и Superpowers — 4 skill, параллельные subagents, наблюдаемость
Я работаю с Codex каждый день и со временем собрал поверх него систему оркестрации: 4 локальных skill (setup, stage, router, closeout), .codex/orchestrator.toml как машинный контракт и обязательная Parallel Decomposition Matrix перед делегированием. Сверху — Beads как трекер задач и Superpowers как процессные skill. Что это даёт на практике: — параллельный запуск независимых streams, когда write zones не пересекаются; — видимые spawned subagents — можно кликнуть и зайти в каждого отдельного агента, полная наблюдаемость; — чистый контекст основного оркестратора: он диспетчер, а не исполнитель, токены тратятся только на координацию; — нулевой silent debt — закрытие этапа требует evidence. История того, как я к этому пришёл — полгода с большим AGENTS.md на 30 КБ, который не работал. Проблема была не в правилах, а в том, что одно полотно правил это не контракт, а эссе. В статье: фрагменты toml, шаблон worker-контракта, golden prompts, грабли с inline-делегированием. "Strikingly, nearly two-thirds of respondents said China currently matches or exceeds the United States in power and influence globally (see figure 5). In addition, that question surfaced a significant difference by gender: More women (71 percent) than men (58 percent) thought China was as powerful as or more powerful than United States.

"Today, scholars and policymakers debate whether China will rival the United States as a superpower or is already in decline. The rise of India and the resurgence of Russia, meanwhile, have led many to proclaim the arrival of multipolarity. Widely divergent views about the balance of power are common because power, although foundational to international politics, remains an elusive concept.
To reckon with this challenge, I developed a methodology for comparing national power—one that uses common metrics (GDP, for instance, or military expenditure) in modern and historical data to determine a threshold for great-power status. My study found that arguing about whether China is catching up to the United States misses the point. Great powers have often been far weaker than the leading state—the most powerful country in the global system—but nevertheless engaged in dangerous security competitions. Moreover, my methodology revealed that China today is already more powerful than the Soviet Union was during the Cold War. Modern China, then, is not just a great power but a superpower.
The world, in short, is bipolar. Many middle powers are influential actors within their regions, but only the United States and China exceed the great-power threshold. This development explains rising tension in U.S.-Chinese relations and suggests that other countries will find it increasingly difficult to stay out of the crossfire of the rivalry. Bipolarity, for instance, helps explain the recent U.S. preoccupation with Latin America, where China has gained significant economic and political influence. As the dynamic between China and the United States grows only more competitive, Washington will find such encroachments intolerable—just as China may similarly refuse to accept U.S. political and military involvement in its own backyard."

"China’s leaders have spent years preparing for Trump’s return and view the trade war as part of a much larger contest that is likely to last for decades. In the short term, Beijing’s priority is securing the concessions on advanced technology needed to accelerate semiconductor development in China and reduce reliance on imports. In the medium term, it aims to deepen technological capacity, diversify export markets, and capture a larger share of value-added exports in global supply chains to reduce U.S. leverage. In the long run, it intends to build an alternative global trading and financial architecture strong enough to strip the United States of its unilateral sanctioning power. Above all, China wants recognition that its core interests lie beyond even the threat of Western interference—that it has full freedom of action within its sphere of influence, including Taiwan and its regional periphery, and that it can engage economically with the world on terms no less favorable than those accorded to the United States or other great powers.
In essence, China is attempting a geopolitical feat without precedent. It seeks to obtain an equal place alongside the United States without triggering “the Thucydides trap’’—the tendency for rising and established hegemons to come to blows. Unlike earlier revisionist powers, China intends to complete its ascent through the steady accumulation of economic power and influence rather than through military conquest. To succeed, it must not merely draw even with the United States but surpass it in some areas, to the point that any U.S. refusal to acknowledge its superpower status appears absurd to the rest of the world.
As this protracted struggle unfolds, conventional side-by-side comparisons of economic data or military capability are unlikely to provide a clear indication of which side is ahead, which is slipping behind, and why."

Relatively weaker countries are learning from #Ukraine's experience that one cannot rely on #InternationalLaw, organizations, and solidarity. One should not make the mistake, as Kyiv did, of trusting in:
