  1. Discord replacement seems to have come down to stoat.chat or @fluxer.app

Personally I like #Fluxer more since it can be self hosted if you want (not required though) but also because #Stoat make their desktop app #MaterialYou which IMO is the most disgusting and worst UX design language to ever be created and no one should EVER use it. But feature-wise Stoat seems OK.

  6. UPDATE :nkoHype: : The developer responded quickly with a pretty detailed explanation (including a code screenshot o_o) of what the app collects and the purposes. It's just the ads in the free version, and crash analytics.

『 ...in the Pro version of the app, after restarting the application, Google Ads tools are not initialized and are not used. 』

No other spying seems to be planned:

『 I do not have any intention to collect user data for resale or other purposes, nor to spam users with random full-screen ads. I have another app, and in that project I often received offers to “increase conversions” by integrating some questionable tools, which I am not interested in. 』

I bought the premium version and the app is great. Definitely recommending! :nkoWave:

  10. @michal #MaterialYou colors have been a thing for years now (since Android 12), it's not a new Android feature. Maybe you confuse this with the recent #Material3 redesign?

I just don't like the default Pachli color scheme and I can modify this in pretty much any app I use to fit my personal tastes.

  15. Checking mastodon client #Pachli again while I am waiting for #Moshidon to be updated.

I like it but the lack of #MaterialYou app colors and theming options is a huge bummer (same in #Tusky). 🫤 Pretty much the only app in my daily arsenal of #Android apps which don't support it.

  20. Android Auto 16.0 wjeżdża na polskie drogi. Odtwarzacz wygląda świetnie, ale palce będą błądzić

Google rzadko funduje nam rewolucje wizualne w Android Auto, zazwyczaj serwując jedynie enigmatyczne „poprawki błędów”.

    • Przycisk Play/Pauza wylądował teraz w lewym dolnym rogu (bliżej kierowcy w autach z kierownicą po lewej stronie, czyli u nas).
    • Przyciski zmiany utworów są tuż obok niego.
    • Pasek postępu i dodatkowe opcje (losowanie, pętla) zostały przesunięte dalej.

Całość zyskała też silne wsparcie dla Material You. Tło widgetu i przyciski dynamicznie dopasowują kolorystykę do okładki aktualnie odtwarzanego albumu.

  21. Why hasn't #HomeAssistant updated their Android app to #MaterialYou yet? I mean #Material3Expressive would be optimal, but at least Material You? The fact that you can do it yourself via #HACS kinda raises an eyebrow. Looking native shouldn't be an after-thought when it's almost 2026.

  22. For those #privacy concious who appreaciate the look and feel of #materialyou, have a look at HeliBoard. It's a quite customizable fork of #openboard that can look nearly identical to #gboard, for example, while having a lot of functionality.

  24. Hey everyone! 😎💪 Just wanted to share how amazing Material You is! The coolest part? The accent color for your Android UI automatically matches and blends beautifully with your wallpaper's color theme. How awesome is that? 😎💪

  25. Still surprised that there is no such thing as a FOSS widget maker that works as an alternative to KWGT...

Or at least a good generic music widget with ...

Because the power of is actually so awesome, I just did one myself :blobcatderpy:

  28. When I started building my offline period tracker, I made a controversial tech choice: Zero Cloud Dependencies.

Instead of spinning up a server to process your data, I pushed everything to the Edge (your device).

Why? Because a period tracker shouldn't need a server to calculate "Date + 28 days". That’s just an excuse to harvest data.

  29. There is a myth in the privacy community: "If an app is secure, it has to look ugly or utilitarian."

I built Cicle to break that rule.

It’s a 100% Offline Period Tracker that respects your data, but still gives you the warm, modern UI you actually want to use every day.

You don't have to choose between "Pretty" and "Private" anymore.

👇 Try it on Android: play.google.com/store/apps/det
