yesterday was hot, so along we many others we headed to the beach at the end of the day, got there at #sunset - glorious

I was super lucky last night and got to watch a bobcat hunting down by Rodeo Lagoon. (thanks to the kind person who pointed it out).
It was pre-sunset and still pretty busy on the beach, with lots of cars pulling up. The bobcat was maybe 50 feet away, unfazed by the human shenanigans happening behind them. Took these pics, just before it launched itself into the reeds.

It's peak pelican season at Rodeo beach and Bird Island is fully booked

found some slightly creepy creatures on Rodeo Beach this morning. turned over a washed up and battered boat line float - and the surface started writhing.
according to #inaturalist these are probably Japanese Skeleton Shrimp, so i turned it back over and out of the sun, placing it back in the surf. -
