The song was composed and produced by Eminem, longtime collaborator #JeffBass (one half of the production duo #BassBrothers), and #LuisResto. The lyrics were written by Eminem. It was released on October 28, 2002, as the #leadSingle from the soundtrack. "Lose Yourself" was a commercial success, becoming Eminem's first #BillboardHot100 number-one single.
